| news update March 2005 Current Location: London, England Internet Dating "Not Crazy," Claim Squirrel, Owl Internet dating can work if you persevere and are willing to date a creature from a totally different species, an owl and a squirrel who met online said today. Nicole, also known as "Squirrel Nutkin" because of her feisty, mischievous and active nature, and Chris, aka "Old Brown" due to his tendency to utter frequent (and frequently dubious) words of wisdom, met online in August 2004, and have been going from strength-to-strength ever since. "I was dubious, particularly when I found out he was an English Owl," said Nutkin/Nicole, a squirrel of Italian-Puerto Rican descent. "But everything's been going great!" she added. "Communication is the key," said Old Brown/Chris. "I'm really trying to learn lessons from past mistakes and be more open, more willing to admit my mistakes," he said. "I feel like we are really building something healthy and strong. She really supports me in my goals, and I like to take her under my wing whenever I can," added the 6'3" owl. "As a last resort, I can always put her in my waistcoat pocket, like the original Old Brown," he added. |
