The Sporting Karaté Club de Kaédi receives numerous invitations to participate in various events throughout Mauritania. Among the most prestigious is the annual anniversary celebration of the shotokan club of Sensei Sall Saidou in the capital of Nouakchott. During the club's first year of involvement in this prominent event, the 30 members in attendance received special recognition from the President of the Mauritanian Karate Federation for its outstanding participation.
In addition, the club travels to the neighboring cities of Bogué and Aleg as well as to the surrounding smaller villages of Djeol, Lexeiba, and Belinabé. The goal of each visit is to demonstrate the club's technical skills in shotokan as well as to encourage youth involvement in the sport.
Despite its limited resources and training materials, the Sporting Karaté Club de Kaédi has earned many honors for its discipline, technique, and performance. As a result of its dedication and commitment to the sport, the club will celebrate its 6th anniversary September 2, 2006 with the participation of more than 10 Mauritanian and Senegalese shotokan, kung-fu, and kick-boxing clubs.
