Ever the child at heart, Joseph keeps his life colorful and exciting by keeping secrets in his heart. It gives him a private life to speak of, as private as his relationship with the Lord.
The first S in the secret chamber of Joseph's heart is Santa Claus. Joseph grew up believing in Santa Claus, and the Christmas spirit never left him to this day because he has sworn to die believing in Santa Claus. To this day, he still hangs his special Christmas sock on the midnight of every December 24. For him. Dads are just Santa's representatives; that there really is a Santa who will one day give him his gift in heaven. Here, he is shown proudly having his picture with Santa at the young age of 40.
Joseph O. Vergara's second "S" is Shakey's: Captain Shakeys! Joseph as a child attended a lot of kiddie parties with all the baloons and stuff. His birthdays also had cakes, but he never really had his own birthday party. He always had to celebrate it with his lola and cousin who also celebrated their birthdays on the same month so there was always only one celebration. He had an opportunity to give a blowout in school once by giving his Grade I classmates fruitcake slices. But he never really had a party with all the works: baloons, cake, friends who really care, and a mascot! Here, Joseph is shown with his dream birthday party, his 40th, with friends who didn't mind the children's party set-up for a grown man. What mattered most was everyone was happy for each other
