7.20 am to 12.25 pm
There are nine periods of 30 minutes each.
Recess: 9.30 am – 9.50 am
General Assembly
All students are expected to attend the General Assembly on time at 7.20 am.
At the Assembly, the National Anthem is sung, the prayer is read and some announcements will be made.
Curriculum
St. Michael's School adopts the National Curriculum whereby the main medium of instruction in the Lower Primary is Bahasa Melayu whereas the main medium of instruction in the Upper Primary is English.
The main subjects studied in the Lower Primary are:
- Bahasa Melayu
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Pelajaran Am
Students also do Art and Handicraft, Physical Education and Computers.
In the Upper Primary, students take:
- Bahasa Melayu
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Science
- General Paper (Geography & Sejarah)
In addition, students also do Art and Handicraft, Physical and Computers.
Do note that syllabus may change or get updated from time to time. For the latest, you are advised to check with the subject teacher.
In Primary Six, students are registered for the Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR).
Requirements for a Pass
For lower primary, students are expected to obtain more than half of the total marks in all their subjects combined.
For upper primary, students are expected to obtain passes in English, Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, and Science or General Paper.
The grading system used by the school is as follows:

External Assessments
Sitting for an external assessment is a useful way to gauge a child's competency in a particular subject area in addition to the normal evaluation the school provides.
Students are therefore encouraged to take external assessments during their time in school. Academic support such as devoting instructional time for these assessments are provided.
However, all fees have to be paid for by the parent/guardian.
Extra-Curricular Activities
ECAs build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills. They are an essential part of growing up.
As such, the school provides a wide range of ECAs for students to choose from. These include:
(i) Football
(ii) Basketball
(iii) Athletics
Students with aptitudes can be selected to represent the school at the various competitions.
Students who have an excellent ECA record at the end of the year may be nominated for a prize in ECA during the school's Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony.
The School also organizes annual concerts for the Community. Students with talents in art, music and dance are encouraged to take part.
Registration
Registration is open throughout the academic year.
Parents/Guardians should ensure that their child meets the age requirement.
Application forms can be obtained from the school office during school hours.
Upon acceptance by the school, the parent/guardian is required to pay:
(i) admission fee of $20 (one-off);
(ii) A computer fee of $20 per annum;
(iii) A stationery fee of $12 per annum;
official receipts will be issued.
The Booklist is normally given during registration time.
Parents/Guardians can also but the exercise books and school uniform during registration time should they wish to do so.
