7.20 am to 12.30 pm
There are 8 periods of 35 minutes each.
Recess: 9.50 am – 10.15 am
General Assembly
All students are expected to attend the General Assembly on time at 7.20 am.
At the Assembly, the National Anthem is sung, the prayer is read and some announcements will be made.
Requirements
All students entering secondary school have to obtain the minimum requirements set by the relevant authorities.
For example, students entering Form 1 should have passed the PSR.
Students entering Form 4 should have passed the Penilaian Menengah Bawah (PMB), the public examination at the end of Form 3.
Students in non-examination classes (eg, Form 1, 2 and 4) must meet the minimum standards of the school before they can be promoted to the next class/grade.
New students from other schools have to meet the Principal or his representative before being admitted into the school.
Uniform
All students are required to wear a white shirt and grey pants. The school badge and the tie have to be worn at all times in school.
Students have to wear black shoes.
No dyeing of hair is allowed. Neither are accessories allowed on any body parts such as the ear.
School shirts, badge and tie can be bought from the school office.
Curriculum
The medium of instruction in secondary school is English.
The school adopts the National Curriculum as prescribed by the Ministry of Education.

Upper Secondary Arts stream students normally take 7 or 8 subjects.
Upper Secondary “N” level stream students take 7 subjects only.
Upper Secondary Science stream students normally take 8 subjects.
Do note that syllabus may change or get updated from time to time. For the latest, you are advised to check with the subject teacher.
Extra classes are normally arranged for students in public examination classes. Attendance is compulsory.
In Form 3, students are entered for the Penilaian Menengah Bawah (PMB).
In Form 5, the students are entered for the GCE “O” Level Examination.
Books
A booklist is normally attached to the Report Book of the student at the end of the Final Examinations. The booklist contains the titles of textbooks and workbooks that are recommended by the subject teachers for use in the following academic year.
The number of exercise books to be used in the following year is also indicated on a list attached to the student's Report Book.
Teachers
The secondary section is headed by the Head of Secondary. Most of our secondary teachers have at least a first degree. Several hold postgraduate qualifications in education or their specialist subject.
All teachers are registered with the Ministry of Education.
Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs)
ECAs build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills. They are an essential part of growing up.
As such, the school promotes active participation in a wide range of ECAs which include:

- Athletics
- Hockey
- Swimming
- Cricket
- Scouts
- Debating
Students with aptitudes can be selected to represent the school at the various competitions.
Students who have an excellent ECA record at the end of the year may be nominated for a prize in ECA during the school's Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony.
The School also organizes annual concerts for the Community. Students with talents in art, music and dance are encouraged to take part.
External Assessments
Sitting for an external assessment is a useful way to gauge a child's competency in a particular subject area in addition to the normal evaluation the school provides.
Students are therefore encouraged to take external assessments during their time in school. Academic support such as devoting instructional time for these assessments are provided.
However, all fees have to be paid for by the parent/guardian.
Examinations
Students are assessed by means of Progress Tests which are held in the First and Third Terms. Twenty percent of their marks from the Progress Tests are counted for the Mid-Year Examinations and the Final Year Examinations.
For the non-public examination classes, the weightage for the Mid-Year Exams and Final Year Exams are as follows:
Final Mark = 70% from Exam + 20% from Progress Test + 10% for Personal Responsibility
Personal Responsibility refers to a student's attitude towards his subject. For example, teachers look for interest in subject,

Final Mark = 80% Exam + 20% Progress Test
Requirements for Pass / Promotion
The requirements for promotion from Form 1 to Form 2 and Form 2 to Form 3 are as follows:
A Credit in Bahasa Melayu + At least 2 other credits + At least a Pass in English and Mathematics
The main requirement for promotion from Form 4 to Form 5 is a minimum of 3 credits in the Final Examination.

Parent-Teacher Meetings
These are normally organized at the end of each term.
Parents are encouraged to use this opportunity to find out the progress of their child in school.
Fees
At the time of printing, the fee is $1080 per year for children whose parents are not receiving any educational subsidies.
For children whose parents are receiving educational subsidies from their employers, the fee is $1440 per year.
Fees should be paid by the 14 th of each month. Fees are to be paid in ten months.
Payment of fees can be made to your child's class teacher. An official receipt will be issued.
It is the school's policy to issue reminders if fees are not received after the end of the month. If fees are not paid two months in succession, the child will not be allowed to attend classes.
Registration
Prospective students entering secondary school from another school have to meet the Principal together with their parents before admission.
Application forms can be obtained from the school office during school hours.
Upon acceptance by the school, the parent/guardian is required to pay:
(i) admission fee of $20 (one-off);
(ii) A computer fee of $20 per annum;
(iii) A stationery fee of $12 per annum;
official receipts will be issued.
The Booklist is normally given during registration time.
Parents/Guardians can also but the exercise books and school uniform during registration time should they wish to do so.
