Traveler, to the world of Madness and Beauty, a world where heroes of all walks
of life battle against villains of more than human evil. A world of
magicians and military men, of brightly colored men and women with superhuman
abilities fighting the good fight against the outer darkness. A world
where a grim shadow stalks the night, seeing deep into the evil that lurks
within the hearts of men, while in the bright light of day pretty soldiers in
sailor suits battle against alien invaders, and magical children on broomsticks
play strange games. A world of gods, monsters, heroes, villains--and
sometimes ordinary people who, in the hour of greatest need, stand firm against
the evil that threatens them. A world...of marvels.
The world of Madness and Beauty is a rather ambitious (if I may say so myself) fanfiction project attempting to combine, in one universe, characters from many different sources, including Marvel and DC comics, television series, pulp and literary heroes, and even anime. Here, you may find Harry Potter being taught the skills of adventuring by heroes like Lord Greystoke and Sherlock Holmes, or read of the founding of the United Federation of Planets by the first heroes of the Crystal Millenium. Name any two characters, any two concepts, and in this universe, there is a chance that they will meet. With imagination, anything is possible. Sit back, and prepare yourself for a long, wild journey--a journey of the human race.
