Darth Vader is helping the Empire crush the rebellion, which is determined to end the Empire's
domination of the universe.
The rebels are based on Hoth, and ice planet, when troops arrive to wipe them out the rebels put up a valiant fight. In the end of the battle the Empire prevail forcing Han Solo and Princess Leia to flee to Cloud City, eventually taken prisoner by Darth Vader in hopes that this will bring Luke to him and the ‘Dark Side’.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, in a bid to strengthen his knowledge of the ‘Force’, finds Yoda, one of the finest Jedi Masters. Luke undergoes rigorous training, but is pulled by visions of his friends being in terrible danger. He leaves Yoda before his training is completed to face Darth Vader to try to save his friends.
Luke was tricked by Darth Vader and witnesses his friend, Han Solo encased in carbonite and taken by a bounty hunter to Jabba the Hutt. Princess Leia
with the help of Lando Calrissian, escapes from Darth Vader. However, Luke is faced with a laser sword battle with Darth Vader, which in the end---tying to persuade Luke to turn to the ‘Dark Side’ confesses that he is his father! Luke shocked with disbelief and wounded, uses the ‘Force’ to communicate to Leia so she might be able to find him. Leia rescues Luke only to find a shattered and hurt young man. Together they hold each other in the hope that soon they will be able to rescue Han.
