Oklahoma City Memorial

On Saturday, March 10th in the year 2001, The Adventure Group visited the Federal Building Memorial in Oklahoma City. The following is their pictorial account and written report of that experience.

The outside wall of the memorial. A wall made of bricks which were apparently drawn by children to pay respect to the victims and families. Each one of these chairs represents one person who was killed in the blast. They are arranged in 9 rows to signify the 9 floors of the building. Smaller chairs are used to represent children. The chairs were lit up as the sun set. It was a very sad and mournful sight. Some pictures of the Federal Building before, during, and after the demolition.
The reflecting pool at the bomb site. Although it's dark and difficult to see, the tree in the distance is called the Survivor Tree. It is a testament to those who survived the bomb, and the families who must survive without their loved ones. The families and friends of the victims leave wreaths and pictures and letters to pay respects to those who lost their lives.
