Northern Pursuit 43'
In this Movie Errol plays a mountie  who everyone thinks has gone over to the nazies.  He only does this to foil there plans . I like this movie and with all that was going on in Errol's life at the time he plays the part he was given well
Personal info
This was Errol's first picture to be done after the rape trial.

What a well Acted movie, Errol with his underplaying of the  job he has been dealt,  really makes this top knotch movie.  The real war footage is a real bonus. With James Wong Howe's black and white photography and Raoul Walsh's directing you cannot ask for more. It was great to see the war finally come to an end, in real life, whilst this pic was just making it's premier in Sydney Australia
Some critics don't think much of this film . But I like the story line of a french criminal who is going  to be sentenced to death escapes the hang man only to find that he is recaptured. Whilst on a train it is rerouted because saboteurs have blown up a bridge . Because of this  the nazis decide to take 100 hostages from a village unless the saboteur gives himself up. So Errol takes the  place of the saboteur and saves 100 people from death .
Objective Burma 45'
The most memorable thing for me in San Antonio is Alexis Smith as the dance hall gal. I also like the dance scene he has with her. As we know Errol really hated westerns but he was the only non American actor to have success in westerns. By the time of this film he had surrended to the nonsense and just went along for the ride. But always being a pro.

This is a real beaut movie with all the old fashoned  comic charm S.Z.Sakall who I like in any movie plays Flynns friend and restraunteur who helps get him out of scrapes and into some.we all know what the ending will be . But it's fun getting there. I also love the scene where Errol plays Santa Claus the slaps stick is a real hoot. Take a look at this one and I know you will agree with me.
Never Say Goodbye 46'
Cry Wolf 47'
I really love Cry Wolf Some critics say Errols performance is wooden. I don't think so he is really suspicious, sadistic and  spitefull and has no remorse for the actions he takes to keep a family secret Barbra Stanwyck is believable as the widow of the supposed dead brother of Flynn. Even though this film is the most removed from his on screen persona I feel that's why I like this one so much. And the ending is worth the waiting.
Escape me never 47'
Escape me never well that says it all. Flynn wants rich woman poor woman wants  Flynn. Flynn marries poor woman they have a baby Flynn goes after rich woman on that night the baby dies Flynn sees error of ways comes back to poor woman. This film was completed in Febrary 46 and not released till 47.
Some background on Silver River
This was Raoul Walshe's last film with Errol they did 7 pictures together and had become close friends (Errol called Walsh
'uncle', Walsh was able to control Errol on there earlier films. He made a deal with Errol no liquor untill 5pm if Errol stuck to this then Walsh would join him.In the 3 years since they had worked together Errol had softer directors.Errol and Walsh never worked together again after silver river.
Errol plays a real mean man in this film who wins a lot of money and thinks he can buy the world with it even his wife
but his world all comes undone around him .when he has lost everything then he changes.
