Stellarton Yp Wkd 2004
Friday, May
This had to be the least exciting day... best for last you know. Most people arrived for meeting, in which we took up the book of Jude. Everyone came back and crashed at our house, since our parents agreed to take on the task of accomadating a whole house full of young people. This made things a little more fun.. (I think) since the guys didn't have to be stuck with a freezing meeting room and horrible showers! Of coure there was freezing showers here too... with that many people fighting over them. We all headed to the gym after that, and played the usual basketball, floor hockey and dodgeball. Then it was off to Wendy's/Tims... of course. We should get a discount, we give them so much business! Then it was back to our house... for some... sleep.......

Saturday, May

We started off the day with a prayer meeting, followed by a meeting by Mr. Martin. He took up Ephesians 2, and how all the believers are a reflection of all the Christians in heavenly places. And he kept things interesting... getting right down on the floor with his maps, mirrors, and little figurines. It was very encouraging:) This was followed by lunch... make your own fajitas. After that the real fun began! Time for the
photo scavenger hunt to begin... We recieved a list of ideas...and off we went, in a cloud of dust. And guess who's back first... the "never speeding" Joshua. But the prize goes to... Meredith's team! While the photo's were developping and supper being made, the yp headed to G.R Saunders for some football and soccer. Waiting for them at the meeting room was a fully decorated Nova Scotia themed supper. No 5-course meal this year, but a sit-down spaghetti supper with brownie's and ice cream for dessert. Yumm. Next up, question-and-answer meeting, Lots of good questions, and not enough time to quite finish them all:( Then it was time for the surprise activity... Giant Dutch blitz at the gym! It started off a bit slowly... but once we started a giant game with all 8 teams, it really started to get exciting:) It's hard to keep up with that many piles at once, and it sure gave you a work out:) That worked up our appetite, and we appreciated our Sams's donairs that much more afterward:) Pat and Josh kept us entertained with arm wrestling, O ya, and Kristi won a certain contest with 26 mints and counting... don't ask how she fit them all in her mouth. It was back to our house after that... more talking... and a little sleep.

Sunday, May
Well, I bet you can guess how we started the day. You got it- Breaking of Bread. We had another fellowship tea this weekend, so it was good just to sit, relax and talk. During the little break we all went to our house and watched the video of the previous day, as well as the last year's yp wkd. Very entertaining:) Some yp also went to the swinging bridge, but you'll have to hear about that from another source. We were all a bit worried about the weather that night... as it continued to rain and be overcast. The weather turned out to be AMAZING for the bonfire though. I think it was the best bonfire I have ever had! The skies cleared up just in time for it, and there was a beautiful sunset... and perfectly calm water. As for the bonfire itself... good as always. Singing...hiking the rocks... a few sampling the freezing water... great way to end the weekend. And I could continue this and tell you about a certain trip down the ghost road... but I'll just leave you by saying that no, we didnt see any ghosts, and no, no one was hurt!

Monday, May

Last day...:( It was the typical Victoria day activity on the schedule... Off to Salt Springs for some Ultimate frisbee! No hotdogs however... just back to good ol Wendys/Tims. Then--- the best place in the whole entire world-- Melmerby beach! We hiked around the rocks, and braved the thorns on top of Roys Island- but it was all worth the view:) There's no other beach like it! We all had to say our good byes after that:( .. but all we could say was.. Till next year!

** And most of all, we have to thank the Lord for an amazing wkd!
