July/06-- As it's beeen a very long while since I've last updated this section, I'll do one last recap. Before I do that however, I suppose I should tell you that I have decided to stop updating the news portion of this site. However, I will continue to add to the pictures page whenever I can. Keep checking back:)
So where were we.... Mt. Tabor... Wow, I think we've just had too much going on here lately! June was a busy month, the highlights being one very insane wkd trip to Montreal, and a surprise visit by the Montreal yp for Bethany's birthday! Two weeks after Mt. Tabor, Charles decided he hadn't had enough of Montreal, and Bethany, Kristi and Shelby joined the insanity for a marathan trip up for the all day french meetings. That meant driving ALL night Friday, staying for a day and a half, and turning around and driving home Sunday night-- arriving just in time for work and school, whichever the case happened to be. Convinced that we're crazy yet? I'm fairly certain a few people thought so.
Then two weeks later, it was time for a return visit by Anna, Jmart and Et (or Ethel, as he is now callled).  Bethany was convinced she was on an innocent trip to Sobeys, when three familiar faces popped up in front of her! Congrats on actually succeeding in pulling that one off:) That kicked off almost two weeks of fun, which involved a grad party for Charlotte and Colin, and taking Et to all the usual yp hangouts as well as a few new ones-- our most recently discovered one being Pictou Lodge (see pictures). Speaking of Et, I suppose I should take this time to officially include him in our honourary yp! He is convinced he doesn't have what it takes to become one, but here is the proof right in print:) The next weekend was Newfoundland conference, so we crammed 5 people in the little car, and headed over for the weekend. It's becoming quite the tradition! And hopefully next year we can continue to convince new people to come.
Following that, Bethany headed out to join the honourary yp in Morning Star, Wyoming. And from the reports, it was very worth the trip! Pictures of that are posted as well.
And now a few prayer requests, concerning local yp happenings.... Charlotte is off to St. Annes this fall, and Colin is headed to Port Hawkesbury, so we will be missing a few yp around here come September. They can be sure we'll miss them a lot! Also, as you may have heard, Meredith just finished her operation, and seems to be doing well, but continued prayer for that would be valued!!
We will still be doing our typical yp things, so don't think we've stopped anything. If you're ever in the area, please give us a call!

April 28/05-- Tonight was a night for surprises!! It started out as a small affair, with a simple trip to Sobeys to pick up some food. But who should we pass in the parking lot, but Marshal! Turns out he was just ending his shift, and Thomas was down the road at his grandparents. So we added them to the group, and it was off for some late-night football! Oh, before I forget... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MARSHAL!!! We missed his real birthday, so we made sure to make up for it:)

April 24/05-- So much for my not slacking off! I guess there was too much to think about what with St. Thomas coming up and all that:) There's a few pictures up, if you'd like to check them out-- they're mostly of the sing though, didn't get much opportunity to use my camera this year. This weekend we decided to show Shelby one of our more infamous roads around here-- I bet you can't guess which one?? We also picked up a few snacks at Sobeys and did some star gazing out at the skatepark:) Make sure to ask Kris for some spontaneous singing sometime. She has lots of songs up her sleeve. We also made a few trips out to swinging bridge in recent weeks, some interesting experiences there:) I'll do my best to keep this up-to-date again, don't give up on us yet!

April 5/06-- I think I'm a little behind on here! I can't even remember everything we've done since our last update:) The last few weeks have been pretty similar though, with several visits to McD's and driving around the county. We met a new friend who works at Fastfuel-- Jeff! He just loves bananas. And toy cars. Oh, and we went to the Westside too. Just for Thomas. It's his favourite place to be lately! We also did a polar dip yesterday, which was quite a feat, considering there was ice in the strait just a week ago!! I'll buy an icecap for anyone else who can do that:)

March 22/05-- Well, I'm finally back from my break-- and I don't know about the rest of you, but I wish March break was a whole lot longer:) And we need better ski hills around here! Anyways, I'm only one young person, but if you're interesting in the Ont/qc yp happenings, just check out a few myspace sites! There'll probably be something-or-other going on this weekend, so we should be back on track soon.

March 4/05-- Finally, no skiing this weekend:( We made up for it though, and Thursday night it was off for the usual Tims/Wendys chat. Friday night was off for a special photo session at McD's, the Merb, and Trenton park- specially dedicated to Anna! We didn't last too long at the Merb (would have been a perfect night for a ghost trick!) but we did manage to make it out on the beach for a bit. On Saturday we discovered a new place for hockey-- Westside community centre. I should mention the Sunday school crowd was out at MacLeods for some skating on the pond during the afternoon, but as this young person was working hard, I can't say too much about that. Sunday night was some more McDonalds, and a trip out on the backroads.... the deer weren't smiling tonight:) March break next week, so we'll see what happens there!

Feb 26/05-- 6 times... that's how often the yp have been skiing this year! A record for sure. We were even hitting the jumps and rails tonight, so all that practise has paid off:) We went cave-exploring too, and pictures of the latter will be up shortly! We also had a bit of a miracle-- "someone" lost some money (3 guesses who) and we found it over an hour after the fact! And this happened to have blown off a chairlift... on a windy, snowy night! What are the chances:) But then again, all things are possible with Him...! Seems like everyone's break is ending, or coming up soon, so enjoy it while it lasts:) And by the way, I just added quite a few videos to my pics page, don't forget to check them out!

Feb 18/05-- Pretty eventful weekend around here-- we started off with a typical Mcsnack on Thursday night, and then there was a sing out at the MacLeods on Friday. Rain delayed plans for hockey, but we had visitors, and made up for it! Saturday we were up bright and early for some more skiing, only to find out a power outage delayed the opening till 10am! Or so we were told... we arrived, only to find the power was still out! That didn't stop those die-hards though, who just walked up part of the hill and skiied down. We were back on track at 2:30pm, and just stayed till closing to make up for it:) Pictures will be up shortly!

Feb 12/05-- Happy birthday Caroline! She must have been feeling pretty special today, since she got TWO cakes:) Char might have some pics of that later, you'll have to check her site. Several of us went skiing (3rd wkd in a row!!) on Friday-- a bit of ice, but perfect weather, so we're contemplating heading back to the hill on Saturday. Especially since we have an on-going blizzard, and a bunch of extra yp around on the weekend! Plans are also in the works for a night of Pond hockey out at MacLeods, so we'll let you know on that one.

Feb 3/05-- As you may have noticed, skiing has become the yp activity of choice for the winter, so it was back to Wentworth for another night on the slopes! A few lucky ones didn't have to go to school/work in the morning, so they were off to the hill bright and early while the rest of us were forced to wait 'til later. It was an interesting night, as Shelby tried skiing for the first time, and the rest of us switched up on the usual! Marshal's venture on a board ended up on a ski-patrol lift to the bottom of the hill (haha don't worry, it wasn't as bad as it sounds) while Thomas and Bethany managed to make it to the bottom without too many mishaps. Oh, and you better ask Charles what he was up to on those chairlifts. We ran into a bit of rain for the last hour, but our most recent blizzard definately helped out the conditions at the hill. Can't wait to be back next Friday:) We were soaked right through by the end of it, so we stopped in at Tims on the way back to warm us all up a bit. We might all be regretting it tomorrow, but for the moment, it was an awesome night:)

Jan 28/05-- We didn't do anything too exciting on Thursday, but we did manage to get quite a few girls out to chow down at Wendys. And there's nothing better than driving around the county and cracking up over Kristi's doctor episodes and a lady's dog woes. Make sure to ask about those stories:) We also made plans for skiing next Saturday-- be there! Kristi and Shelby also made their monthly polar dip today, so pictures of that and skiing will be up shortly. Till Saturday....

Jan 20/05-- That was one awesome booter session, eh guys? I don't think I've ever seen Wentworth with so little snow, or with such few people-- but that part made it that much better! It almost felt like we had the hill to ourselves, so we made sure to befriend everyone there. Especially the people in nearby chairlifts! The guys decided it was so warm they could make it in tshirts --that didn't last too long for all of them-- but it WAS almost like spring skiing. We even managed to hit a few jumps... so as you can see, we all had a blast! We're thinking of going next Saturday too, so check back. We made a quick stopover in Truro... and found out there are LOTS of Tims at which you can meet lol... so next time you decide to meet someone at a restaurant, double check exactly which one you mean! Have a good wkd all... and pray for snow!:)

Jan 18/05-- Happy birthday Charlotte!!

--
Jan 15/06-- Rain, rain go away, come back another day.... not too much you can do when it's raining on a Sunday night, so it was typical yp fare with a trip to McDonalds, and then a stop at the rubber park.  We also had an interesting trip through a "dirt road" but I'll skip that part. Kristi has happy to see Ronald, so the night was successful after all:) Oh, and the yp had a quite memorable Sunday School class today. Just ask Mr. Cormier to highland dance for you sometime! And don't forget to wish Charlotte a happy birthday on Wednesday...

Jan 6/06-- Back to the regular swing of things-- can't say I'm enjoying that quite yet! Tuesday night was spent in Halifax, starting at the Kartbahn. We could definately use one of those around here! Then it was off to Dollorama for what is becoming an annual gift exchange.... I must say, it is one of our better traditions:) Then it was off to Boston Pizza, where I'm pretty sure it was a great time for everyone except Jmart.... too bad he's a Habs fan:) Wednesday and Thursday were a little slower, as everyone was starting school again... but some of us did manage to catch up on some much needed sleep:) We headed out to the Margesons for some boarding/sledding at the chute and made some good use of their jumps and rail. Marshal didn't have too much luck with Shelby's possessions however:) Then we dropped in to visit Charlotte at McDonalds, and after we were all warmed up it was off to Suicide Hill

for some more fun in the snow. We made a quick stop in to see the mine.... and then it was home to finish Flywheel. Thursday we
made up for our missed New Year's Polar dip, and we made a trip out to the beach for some photo opportunities and a chance for Kristi to freeze herself to death! After meeting we finally tried out Jungle Jims-- and it definately gets an A+! We played a few games back at the house, but there wasn't too much craziness, as it was off to the airport at 5am...not too easy to do after a week of short nights! It was a fun week though, and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves... I'm in the process of uploading some pictures, so check back soon.

Jan 3/06-- First of all, happy New Year! 2005 sure went by fast... hopefully the next year is as good as the last:) It's been a really, really ridiculously busy weekend here in Stellarton-- starting off Friday with the typical yp activities... bowling and McDonalds. We also had fun with our latest game-- Things in a Box. Saturday we had more yp around so we decided to rent the rink for some hockey and then it was back to the Allans for supper, courtesy of Anna and Kristi. After supper we had a video hunt, which made for some interesting footage-- I may post some screen captures from that later. Then it was off to Valley Woods pond for their New Year's celebrations and a mini fireworks display out at Swinging bridge. We were all smiling ear to ear after that one! We brought in 2006 with a phone call to a very much missed yp member-- Melita! Then it was time for a few rounds of psychiatrist and home to bed... Sunday was a bit more relaxed with a trip to Pizza Delight for supper, and a hymnsing after gospel. Even Wendy's cat participated in our games, which made for some more fun in psychiatrist:) Monday was our first ski day of the year-- this time at Martock.... now we're just hoping for Wentworth to open for the season! We also managed to squeeze in Glow-in-the-dark mini golfing and a special trip to Cinnabon at the Mall for Anna... now it's back to Halifax today for some Go Carting! So as you can see, we're making the most of our time:) Hope you all enjoyed your break!
