| I ran a poll on this site for six months. The question was … What is the best way to bond with your stepchild? Here are the results: Total Votes: 74 conversation 38 (51%) working together 12 (16%) boardgames 6 (8%) playing sport 5 (7%) watching tv/movies 4 (5%) help with homework, fishing, and computer games each got 2 votes watching sport got no votes. Most surprising was the last result. I thought watching sport was a typical thing that dads and kids do together. I was also pleasantly surprised that conversation got the majority. Dads, particularly stepdads, are stereotyped as having very little conversation with their kids. It seems many of our assumptions need to be reevaluated. |
