This page is a recruiting site for a Civil War artillery battery, forming in the state of Texas to compete in live fire matches under the North-South Skirmish Association (east coast) and/or the Civil War Skirmish Association (west coast & central U.S.). Battery activity will center around the use of a Confederate Mountain Rifle manufactured by Steen Cannons, but members may also participate in events in morter, musket, carbine, and revolver. One of the two remaining ValVerde Battery guns: a 3-inch ordnance rifle captured at Mansfield and buried after the confederate surrender. It is currently located at the Confederate Reunion Grounds near Mexia, Texas. |
