LCHS Demolition:
The Walls Come Tumbling Down

PAGE 1

Just A Shell Of It's Former Self

Man must finish what nature started. Just look at the empty, hollow shell of a building our old alma mater is just before it becomes victim to the wrecking ball. Doesn't it look sad and lonely sitting there when your head is so full of memories of life, laughter, and love in that old building. Anybody getting a little misty looking at this photo.

Demolition Begins

It's hard to tell who the more destructive force is in these pictures, man or the tornado.

Tumbling, Rumbling, Crumbling Down

Before the new school can be built, the old one has to be torn completely down. And now we really start to see the walls come tumbling, crumbling, rumbling down.

The Front Entrance Remains Defiant

Kinda makes you feel like you just lost your best friend, huh? This is a view from the northwest looking southeast. The main entrance still stands stubornly in the middle.

This Must Be Beirut, Lebanon

This looks like a bombed out building in some war zone, doesn't it? The front entrance is still standing tall on the left, and you can also see the doors to the old parking lot on the right side of the building. I guess doorways are the strongest part of a building. There's the old chemistry lab upstairs on the right. Remember the doors from left to right. The first went into the biology lab. The second was the door to the old darkroom. The third lead to the hallway, and the fourth went into the chemical storage room.

Denny Symer photos were graciously provided by Leslie Lanter.
