My name is Steve Garzolini, I am a pharmacist in Ballina on the far north coast of New South Wales. A few years back a friend had a horse that was getting a bad rash from grass mites and the poor thing was scratching like mad which made it worse. He was also in a paddock with long grass and the wet grass was not helping either. "I need a miracle cream, what can you do?" he pleaded.
The first try
Taking all factors into account we had to have something to stop the horse scratching, aid healing and prevent any infection, sooth and relieve inflammation as well as repel the mites. I made up a cream base and added various ingredients to suit. This first cream gave relief but washed off too easily as the horse walked through the grass. This led to using a greasy base that was waterproof and stayed on however one of the ingredients was incompatible with this base and another had to be chosen. Finally after trying some other ingredients and adding another repellant I got the call from John: "This is the best formula you've made"
Final Formula
At last after many tries we ended up with the formula that is effective and we are still using today.
It contains:
An anaesthetic - to immediately relieve itch and stop scratching
2 anti-inflammatory agents - stops swelling, reduces irritation, soothing
3 antiseptic agents - reduce infection, aid healing
2 insect repellents - gets rid of the cause (some activity against ticks as well)
in a greasy base that won't wash off easily.

Since striking the right formula John has been responsible for the word of mouth success of this ointment and there is not a person he knows who does not have some on hand all the time. He also helped the local farrier cure a bad problem on one of his horses and he has also become an advocate for this ointment.
