Automated External Defibrillation - 4 Hours | |||||||||||||||||||||
This course is ideal for those employers who would like to further enhance the health and safety of the workplace and the skills of their First Aider, delegates who would like to increase their skills in emergency aid, health care workers (also serves as a basic module for them) or those who are involved with an organised First Aid scheme. Certificates are vaild for one year, where upon the delegate will undertake the 2-hour requalification course. Every two minutes one person suffers a heart attack in the UK*. Most people may have been saved with early defibrillation (the heart being shocked back to rhythm) within the first five minutes. By having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with a trained person available, in the event of a sudden heart attack, the chance of survival can be raised from approximately 12% to 60%. AED's are safe and easy to use after a short period of training. |
