Stitch Hiker from the Kootenays

This site is home to a small number of beautiful designs you will want to have in your collection each is done as a kit including Aida cloth, thread and photo of the finished design. I especially liked the finely detailed buildings. There are also a couple of striking Native American/First Nations designs

I enjoy this site which is worth a visit if only to get a copy of their Stitcher With Attitude free chart. The site is well organized and attractive, lots of charts and books which they get from estate sales. Good selection of kits. Nice features are the Stitchers with attitude page which you are invited to contribute to, and a Mini History of Needlework that's nice reading. Not the most comprehensive for floss but a great place for charts and books, and they seem like nice people.
Thread Express - The best selection of needlework you'll find anywhere!

My God what can I say about Thread Express? Words fail me, honestly. This is a playground for fiber lovers. All sorts of thread, floss, ribbon. Silks, metallics you name it. One day I am going to call them, tell them the numbers on a chart I have, and have them substitute the most scrumptious stuff in the store. I adore this site, so will you.
Whiskey Creek Ink

This is a wholesale site but I encourage you to come a take a look at her unique designs. I was particularly taken by the boxes made with perforated paper in loving detail. Even if you know where to buy these treasures go to the site to read her lyrical little stories that describe each piece. Some of the box designs have been charted for framing as well. You will also be charmed by the pin & earning sets in many different colors and styles.
Yarn Yard Home Page

The good news is that they have a lot of stuff. The bad news is that this is one ugly website. Yes, if you have dial up the lack of graphics is an advantage, but on the other hand the layout uninviting. It's broken up by category and when you click on one you go to a page that lists various things. Just lots of blue type on white background. Not a bad place to go if you have to find something I guess, but I like a place that's fun and pleasant to shop as well as comprehensive. There are other places that do as well and look nicer.
