Ladies Night 2004
The St John's Masonic Lodge Ladies night was well attended in Larne Masonic Centre on Saturday 9th October 2004.
The Worshipful Master, Dennis McIlwaine welcomed 50 brethren, their ladies and guests, who were entertained by an exceptional local two piece band after a very enjoyable meal of melon with raspberry sorbet, soup, pan fried chicken or sirloin steak, followed by a choice of dessert, tea or coffee, biscuits and mints. Mouth watering - makes you sorry you weren't there.

Grand Master's Masonic Hall Open Day
After a welcome rest W. Bro. Tweed and company joined other Brethren at Cairncastle Masonic Hall for the lodge open evening which was timed to coincide with Cairncastle Community Association BBQ night. V.W. A. J. McKinley also attended and welcomed W. Bro. George Apsley and V. W. Bro. Robert Bashford [Lodge of Research 200] to the Masonic Hall. They had offered to help explain some of the many Masonic symbols and regalia on display.
There was great interest from many people in Cairncastle that evening, having previously seen Masonic artefacts and old press cuttings in the Community Association's historical exhibition earlier in the day.
It was agreed that the evening had turned out to be an interesting and enjoyable experience for all those who attended.

For your information
During the summer recess and more recently, many Lodge members have been assisting in refurbishing the lodge internal paintwork and in the replacement of the Hall anteroom west windows, which had suffered from the severe weather.
Wor. Bro. Alan Tweed acting in his capacity as Secretary of the Cairncastle Community Association recently took part in the LARNE ALIVE – IT’S A KNOCKOUT Competition held on Friday 10th May 2002 in aid of The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
