When his world was destroyed, Sora was thrown into the midst of a chaotic world on the verge of destruction that he himself had to save. He accepted the role of the keyblade master and set off to seal the doors to the heart of worlds. His main goal though, was to find Kairi, the girl whom had been taken away from him. When he found her however, he learned that he had had her heart the entire time protecting her. They had always been together.

Now, however, after closing the door to Kingdom Hearts, Sora has become separated from Kairi once more. His quest is not over, he must still track down King Mickey once again and find his long lost friend Riku, and of course, eventually make good on his promise and return to Kairi.

Rumors

Because this FMV shot is new footage, some people leap to the conclusion that the sequel will place immediately after Kingdom Hearts, and there will not be a massive age difference as many suspected after seeing "Another Side, Another Story". The argument of course, is that the crossroads are either symbolic, a flashback or perhaps even another dream.

Dual wielding Sora
The majority of people believe that the unknown with 2 key blades, the focal point of both "Another Side, Another Story" and Deep Dive, is in fact Sora. It can not be denied that perhaps this assumption is made because of Sora's central role in Kingdom Hearts. One would only assume that he would be made the focus of the secret endings. This is not the only similarity between the two however.
