Planned Chesapeake Bay Retriever Litters
Planned for Summer 2004
($650)
Our next planned litter will be a repeat breeding with CH. Snowy River's Snow Cloud JH and Tatonka II. This will be the third time we've done this breeding. Pups from the first two breedings have proven to be exceptional in every aspect.
We feel fortunate to have found
"Beau" to use at stud. As you can see by his pedigree, he is an extremely well bred dog. He is a show champion, has his Junior Hunter title and is working on his Senior Hunting Title. More importantly, Beau is a hunting dog and you will not find a stud dog with a nicer temperament than Beau has. Gordon Lobdell, Beau's owner, is an avid waterfowl hunter and uses Beau on a regular basis during Montana's waterfowl season. Beau is an exceptionally well  built Chessie. He is a handsome meduim/dark brown dog with a reddish tint and weighs in at about 80 to 85 pounds. Anyone who appreciates Chessies would fall in love with Beau at first sight. He's a dandy.

"Tonka", the dam, is our pride and joy. Tonka is a lover. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is also a medium/dark brown dog with a reddish tint and weighs in at about 95 pounds. Tonka is an extremely athletic dog...very agile and quick. She clears the top of a barbwire fence with a bird in her mouth effortlessly. She has the classic airborne water entry that Chesapeakes are known for. Tonka goes back to the old Mount Joy lines through her sire, CH. Beartown's Pennacook WCI. The Mount Joy lines were known for their great temperaments and their great marking ability. Dogs from the Mount Joy lines were also known to be somewhat difficult to handle at times....like most Chessies, felt that they knew more than their handlers, and they were usually right! Tonka has a beautiful Chessie head and super coat. She is not a real feminine looking female...she is large boned and muscular. We use Tonka primarily for late season pheasant hunting. When conditions get tough, as they can in November and December in Montana, a dog is needed that can withstand the cold, ice, and snow. Tonka fits that bill perfectly. She is a sensational marker and has a really great mouth...not too soft and not too hard.
