Stress are a punk band from Dublin, Ireland. They have been described as anything from ‘streetpunk’ to ‘crusty grindcore’ and everything in between.
The band formed in 1999 and have undergone numerous line-up changes since their first gig in a quarry at a punk festival in Wicklow.
Founder member and singer, Sean Fitzgerald was a guitarist in Cork anarchist band Violent Phobia in the late eighties.
Bass player Derenzy has played in numerous bands and also plays with thrash punks xKnifedx.
Second vocalist Suzanne Waugh has played with many bands in her native England, including Scrofula, Blood Sucking Freaks and State of Filth.
Guitarist Johnny McMonagle also plays with retro-punks Backhander from Dublin.
A well received, self-titled debut EP was released last year.
The band are currently writing new material towards releasing a full album later this year.
