UPDATED OCTOBER 25 - 2000

CONDIITIONED RESPONSE - Here's the lates on what the band have been up to

'Oh, for the love of god! What a great weekend! I think we managed to pull something off up north! Anyone that has been to Charlie's knows that it is in the working class section of Duluth, and anyone that knows what it is like at a "working class" bar, it takes alot to get that fire lighted under one ass, if you know what I mean. That just seems to be the trend with those types of places. Eventually people started dancing. And people seemed to be in a really good mood, which is our main objective in the first place.

A wedding party made a huge mistake by showing up to the show on Friday. Rick scared the bride for life in front of everyone. For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, "Get on your knees and say hi".

Saturday turned into the Twin Cities. That somewhat became our double edged sword. We had such a boner that so many people came up from the cities on Saturday that we had to say something. Some of the locals did not seem to like the fact that we neglected to mention them, and left! See? You cannot please everyone. It was still packed, people danced, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Of course, each night we proceeded over the border into Wisconsin to the 3rd Rock to close the place down since they are open until 2:30am.

Fail Safe (a.k.a. Nova Cain Tounge) was playing there, and we got up on stage each night to play a tune. Since the rest of the bar (Charlie's) went with us, we blew the roof off of that place each night. The owner gave PC her number. maybe a gig there????

Cruised around town on Saturday, hit the Fetus, the Harley shop, and yes... The Mall. After that we (or shall I say.. myself) made a lame-ass attempt at rollerblading in the wind, with bad wheels. I need a lube job (...i said lube....).

PC scared a bunch of girls in a Burger King, Rick almost lost his voice, Zeek almost beat up the house guy, Steve's van (a.k.a Mystery Machine) burns oil, and Kent and I found a place that sells Guiness for $3 a bottle (whew hew!!) Oh yeah, and we did web-cast, and it did work (well, sort of on Saturday... We found something a Mac cannot do.. or at least Kent's.)

The moral of the story is; 8 guys (crew included) going up north alone for some alcohol and rock-n-roll induced male bonding. The CD chicks were there too, but they are a story in ther own.

NEXT GIG:-November 4th ! THE PRESS BAR ST.CLOUD!!!! Rumor has it that we do not like playing there... (..cough..) Hello???? Is this thing on???? WHATEVER!!!!

See you then!!!!'

UPDATED OCTOBER 18 - 2000

707 - 707 TO RELEASE FIRST ALBUM IN 18 YEARS

The popular hard-hitting rock group, 707, which released three albums in the 1980s and penned such chart hitting singles as "I Could Be Good For You" and "Mega Force", will release their first new recording in 18 years! The album, entitled "Trip To Heaven", will be available on November 7th from Bedrock Records, a label dedicated to issuing CD's for the adult rock music fan.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Kevin Russell, who formed 707 in the late '70s, has not been idle since the group disbanded in1983. He has produced many critically-acclaimed albums for such music greats as Rick Derringer, Leslie West (Mountain), Pat Travers, Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush) and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple); has played with successful rock groups such as Taxxi and Phantom, Rocker and Slick and has become a respected blues guitarist and performer in the San Francisco Bay area where he has lived for the past 20 years. (Russell-Schon Blues Band/Russell Brothers Blues Band/Kevin Russell Blues Band)

In the new millennium, Kevin has re-formed 707 to return to his first love, rock music, tempering the hard edge with his blues and pop sensibility. He has created a very different and refreshing sound for the 11 new songs, all of which he wrote and produced. In addition to Kevin, the new recording features Don Bassey on bass and rock legend Denny Carmassi on drums (Montrose, Gamma, Sammy Hagar, Heart, Whitesnake, Coverdale-Page). The trio, armed with newly recorded material, is poised to reclaim their status as an
exciting act that can be counted on to give a pure and energetic shot of experienced rock and roll every time.

For more information on this CD or to join the 707 news list, e-mail Bedrock Records at
BdrkRec@aol.com and specify "Join 707 List". For more information on Kevin Russell, visit www.kevinrussell.com.

MP3.COM - We all know mp3.com is one of the best sites on the internet to check out new music for upcoming artists and bands. Most of the bands reviewed on our site have a site on mp3.com. The site offers 100,000 and more artists and bands, so it's hard to just pick out the good ones. On the STRUTTER WEBSITE we intend to pick out the best ones each week. Here's another artist you should check out:

NICK CORSETTI

Below is a letter I got from him saying that mp3.com is really making an unknown artist popular...

"Hi Gabor, I am writing to you to ask a favor. You did a review of my music about a month a go, when I was brand new to mp3.com.....In a couple of months 10 of my 13 songs have gone from being obscure, to the top 100.My song " Bearded Man in the Sky" is at # 14 and climbing on the Spiritual pop chart........."Win or Lose" is at # 20 and moving up on the Southern Rock chart.Today "Hot Sugar" moved up 2 spots to # 30, and "Still My life Goes On"(a song I wrote about a good friend of mine , I lost to cancer) just moved
up today to # 32, both songs on the Classic Rock chart. " Long Way from Home" also moved up today to # 58 on the Guitar rock chart. This song also has a Video being aired on IMNTV, national television out of New York City. Several people have already told me they have seen my video.Fans and fellow artists have emailed me and are amazed how fast my music is moving up the charts. It would be nice if you could do a follow up article to let people know how well mp3.com is for new and upcoming artists.I hope you can help me in some way. I would be forever grateful."

LION MUSIC NEWS - The Legendary Swedish band BALTIMOORE will make a comeback in November with its 5th album "Original Sin". The band's leader Bjorn Lodin is back with original guitarist Thomas Larsson replacing Nik Kotzev who is busy with his Brazen Abbot project, keyboards are handled by Lars Pollack (Glenn Hughes), on bass as before Weine Johansson and his brother Eiron Johansson plays the drums For all fans of the vintage Baltimoore albums it's great news that Thomas Larsson is back in
the band. Baltimoore is back !The band's front figure and singer Bjorn Lodin is also known for his work with Lars Eric Mattsson and the Astral Groove project.

"Baltimoore is Björn Lodin...and musicians chosen by him." That just about sums it up. Baltimoore came about in 1987, after Björn, then a member of the band Ready Steady (Tomas Broman/Electric Boys, Mikael

Höglund/Thunder) had the plug pulled on an incomplete recording project by Electra, at the time Scandinavia’s largest record company. Electra offered Björn a contract as a solo artist. Björn says, "Calling the project "Baltimoore" instead of "Björn Lodin" was an idea born mostly out of fear." New songs were written with, among others, Thomas Larsson (gtr/ Glenn Hughes) a former bandmate of Björn's in Six Feet Under 1981-'84. The release`dragged on, but finally in the Spring of ´89, "There's No Danger On the Roof" saw the light of day. The title was a quote of Ingemar Johannsons answer to the question of how he thought his match against Floyd Patterson would go. The positive critical reaction was expected- and delivered. Concurrently, Björn was being approached by an assortment of bands, most notably Krokus, and discussions were held about membership. After reaching an initial agreement, Björn and Krokus started demoing, but the project faltered and skidded to a halt. "It was tough, I remember. Very high-pitch. A shitload of high-pitch."

Björn returned to Sweden and started writing for the next Baltimoore album. New in the camp, as guitarist and co-writer, was Stefan Bergström, later to resurface in Skintrade. "Freak" was released in the Spring of 1990 on new label VIP Records & Tapes. Once again, Björn was lauded for his efforts. "The problem was finding musicians who wanted to stay in the band, and if they did, had something to contribute." "I felt that both albums were a bit over-produced and wanted a rawer approach. It was time to bring in the heavyweights." The Swedish tours with an unclear band roster, coupled with an unhealthy appetite for alcohol made the future uncertain. "I'm a real bastard when I'm drunk, so I don't miss it a bit!" During a gig on Åland, Björn met Bulgarian-born guitarist Nikolo Kotzev. "He had a desperation in his eyes that I just fell in love with." With new-found hope, Björn began a new collaboration. We decided to make a record in Nik's cellar. It was a blast!" Nikolo was accorded full membership in the band, and "Double Density", released 1992, found it's way to Asia, and began climbing up the radio charts. "It was a total gas making that album. We fought for it, believed in it..." Self-production was by now the only thinkable method. In 1994 the follow-up, "Thought For Food" was completed. Ian Haughland, ex Europe, was now behind the drums. The good collaborative spirit between Nikolo and Björn began to fray, and soon after the release of the album,

ceased altogether. A year later, a more personal divorce. An eight-month, unproductive studio exile in 1995 led to a year of moping. "I think I know what people mean by "depression"." After finding a suitable locale, Björn decided to actualize his dream of building his own playpen, in the form of a recording studio. New material was written, and the recording began. The new album, "Original Sin", is released now on Lion Music (check out www.lionmusic.com). "It's a real album, with real music. I'm proud to have had the good fortune to find and work with these people. They're´world-champions, the lot of 'em."

As many of you are aware, Enuff Z'nuff are often involved in charities that involve children or dire social issues, such as "Rock for Tots" in Ohio, a Christmas time event to ensure that neglected and poor children receive presents at Christmas, or "The Nicole Simpson Foundation," a California charity for abused and battered women.

The event, called "A SUM OF HEARTS II" is held in the memory of five year old Dash Dunbar, the son of Karen and Drummer Aynsley Dunbar (formerly of Journey and Whitesnake), who passed away this May with "pontine glioma," a type of brainstem cancer. The proceeds from this show will go to the Dunbar family, to help offset the tremendous financial burden incurred from this tragic illness.

Other artists who are joining the cause are RIK EMMETT, formerly of TRIUMPH, JIM PETERIK, TWO FIRES, KELLY KEAGY of NIGHTRANGER, and guitarist DAVE UHRICH.

The Event will be held on Friday, Sept 22 at 7pm at:
JOE'S on Weed Street
940 West Weed Street
Chicago, IL. 60622
(312) 337-3486

Tickets are $17.00 general admission, but there are special $75.00 tickets, sold by the Rainbow Foundation which will get you a meet and greet with all the artists involved, as well as priority seating for the show. For further information regarding this, please call Mr. John Schenk at (847) 891-5035 or by email at

MTM NEWS -

The MTM staff is much excited about the superb reaction to the House Of Shakira album which just been released. The band was featured as "artist of the week" in Sweden music industry magazine M.I., where journalist Anders Lundqvist raved about the orginallity and cool sound of the band. The band also recieved a stunning review at the leading melodic rock site on the net melodicrock.com where editor and boss Andrew
McNeice blessed and praised the album and gave it 98 out of 100. Also check the bands web site at www.house-of-shakira.nu

The new and upcoming album "Holy Man" from Joe Lynn Turner will be released July 24th and features the following songs: No Salvation, Holy Man, Anything, Honest Crime, Wolves At The Door, Angel, Something New, Freedom Wings, Love Is Blind, Midnight In Tokyo, Babylon, Closer, Too Blue Too Sing The Blues. Once again produced with side kick Bob Held who also had a big part in co-writing the songs with Joe. "Holy Man" will for sure satisfy and please fans of Joes work in Rainbow and Deep Purple.

Doug Howard and his boys in STUN LEER continue their hard work with the bands second album. - Bob St.John who is involved in the project has been very busy with the new Collective Soul album, but I do hope that we shall be able to finish the mix by July, sez Doug. The band also got a web site up and cocking where Doug promised to shortly showcase some new songs...
www.stunleer.com

TOWER CITY will be working on material for the new album during the summer and will possibly as it looks start recording sometime in September - October and aim for a release early 2001.

Also STEELHOUSE LANE will much certinly cut their third album during this fall. Mike Slamer and Keith Slack will as soon as their schedule permit start collaborating on new songs. Slamer has of course recently been much involved in the upcoming solo album from Steve Walsh and the MTM signed project which he's doing with Chris Thompson (album due this fall). Slack on his hand both been working with Michael Schencker as well as the blues band Mudpie.

The ELEMENTS OF FRICTION album is now finished and mixed. The planned release is set for September. Watch this space for full song list and further info shortly. The band will be set as a four piece with Ricky Phillips, Tommy Aldrige, Marcus Nand and Robin MacAuley. The album was mixed with Tony Phillips in L.A.

ACT finished most of the backing tracks for the untitled second album in Studio Underground in Vasteras in June. They also cut real strings for some songs for the new album. They will continue recordings in August and mix the the new album sometime in September. The band promises a harder and heavier sounding album without losing anything of the bands trademark in melodies and harmonies.

RAINE has been recieving lots of good press since the release of the album and hope to get the chance to showcase their talents on stage during the fall. The band has already started to write new material for the second album and will much possibly add a keyboard player to the line up shortly.

"Corridor Of Windows" by Storyteller has been long time coming and the band has been all raved about since the late 80´s when they were ruling the clubs on Sunset Strip. The band is thrilled by the reaction from the melodic hardrock fans all over the world who's been picking up the newly released album. Pony Canyon just released the album in Japan.

Watch out for a new MTM Sampler vol 5 by end of the summer. It will feature songs from the newly released albums, but also songs that just been available in Japan and of course some red hot previews of upcoming releases.

KYLE VINCENT - - ~ STUDIO GOSSIP ~

Parthenon Huxley, lead singer of ELO-PTII, dropped by a recording session at LawnMower & Garden Studios in Pasadena recently to contribute guitar tracks and vocals on two new songs co-written and co-produced with Kyle. "She Only Loves Me When She's High" and "Invisible Man" also credit the muscular guitar work of ex-Guns n' Roses guitarist and Kyle's former bandmate, Gilby Clarke.

"I'm busting with excitement over these," Kyle said. "Especially the sax part... or is it the harpsichord part, or Parthenon's indisguishable talking thru a Mr. Mic part... or the jangling 12string Rickenbacker, or the
cellos....?"

The songs have been "put to bed" (translation: d-o-n-e, done) and are the first slated for the "next" album.

NO, we don't know whatever happened to "Whatever Happened To Fun"!! But the cult elite among us will want to know that the projected compilation of rare UNRELEASED Candy recordings is simmering quietly in a Burbank studio, bubbling ever closer to a release date. So don't give up. This one will be... well, it's just gonna be a TON o' fun!

Note: For those of you who slept thru the 80's, Candy was a big-haired, very popular L.A. Power Pop band that was fronted by our own Mr. V.
