CONDIITIONED
RESPONSE -
Here's the lates on what the band have been up to A wedding party made a huge mistake by showing up to the show on Friday. Rick scared the bride for life in front of everyone. For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, "Get on your knees and say hi". Saturday turned into the Twin Cities. That somewhat became our double edged sword. We had such a boner that so many people came up from the cities on Saturday that we had to say something. Some of the locals did not seem to like the fact that we neglected to mention them, and left! See? You cannot please everyone. It was still packed, people danced, yadda, yadda, yadda. Of course, each night we proceeded over the border into Wisconsin to the 3rd Rock to close the place down since they are open until 2:30am. Fail Safe (a.k.a. Nova Cain Tounge) was playing there, and we got up on stage each night to play a tune. Since the rest of the bar (Charlie's) went with us, we blew the roof off of that place each night. The owner gave PC her number. maybe a gig there???? Cruised around town on Saturday, hit the Fetus, the Harley shop, and yes... The Mall. After that we (or shall I say.. myself) made a lame-ass attempt at rollerblading in the wind, with bad wheels. I need a lube job (...i said lube....). PC scared a bunch of girls in a Burger King, Rick almost lost his voice, Zeek almost beat up the house guy, Steve's van (a.k.a Mystery Machine) burns oil, and Kent and I found a place that sells Guiness for $3 a bottle (whew hew!!) Oh yeah, and we did web-cast, and it did work (well, sort of on Saturday... We found something a Mac cannot do.. or at least Kent's.) The moral of the story is; 8 guys (crew included) going up north alone for some alcohol and rock-n-roll induced male bonding. The CD chicks were there too, but they are a story in ther own. NEXT GIG:-November 4th ! THE PRESS BAR ST.CLOUD!!!! Rumor has it that we do not like playing there... (..cough..) Hello???? Is this thing on???? WHATEVER!!!! See you then!!!!' LION MUSIC NEWS - The Legendary Swedish band BALTIMOORE
will make a comeback in November with its 5th album
"Original Sin". The band's leader Bjorn Lodin
is back with original guitarist Thomas Larsson replacing
Nik Kotzev who is busy with his Brazen Abbot project,
keyboards are handled by Lars Pollack (Glenn Hughes), on
bass as before Weine Johansson and his brother Eiron
Johansson plays the drums For all fans of the vintage
Baltimoore albums it's great news that Thomas Larsson is
back in Björn returned to
Sweden and started writing for the next Baltimoore album.
New in the camp, as guitarist and co-writer, was Stefan
Bergström, later to resurface in Skintrade.
"Freak" was released in the Spring of 1990 on
new label VIP Records & Tapes. Once again, Björn was
lauded for his efforts. "The problem was finding
musicians who wanted to stay in the band, and if they
did, had something to contribute." "I felt that
both albums were a bit over-produced and wanted a rawer
approach. It was time to bring in the heavyweights."
The Swedish tours with an unclear band roster, coupled
with an unhealthy appetite for alcohol made the future
uncertain. "I'm a real bastard when I'm drunk, so I
don't miss it a bit!" During a gig on Åland, Björn
met Bulgarian-born guitarist Nikolo Kotzev. "He had
a desperation in his eyes that I just fell in love
with." With new-found hope, Björn began a new
collaboration. We decided to make a record in Nik's
cellar. It was a blast!" Nikolo was accorded full
membership in the band, and "Double Density",
released 1992, found it's way to Asia, and began climbing
up the radio charts. "It was a total gas making that
album. We fought for it, believed in it..."
Self-production was by now the only thinkable method. In
1994 the follow-up, "Thought For Food" was
completed. Ian Haughland, ex Europe, was now behind the
drums. The good collaborative spirit between Nikolo and
Björn began to fray, and soon after the release of the
album, There's Danger on
the Roof (1989) |
