Preliminary Results
At this point, preliminary data offer some clear
indications about the following issues:
- awareness and understanding of social
responsibility and the performance standards
- use of the performance standards by staff and
students
- perceptions of students, parents, and staff
about the level of social responsibility in the
school
- changes in student levels of social
responsibility as measured by the performance
standards
These results in this section are tentative, based
on data available up to April 6, 2001. Data has been collected
through a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, including
interviews, observations, surveys, and performance ratings. Student
writing and drawing samples have been collected and used to
illustrate various aspects of the data, but these have not been
systematically analyzed at this point.
Additional information will be collected between
April and June 2001; as well, some existing dataspecifically,
student writing and drawing sampleswill be analyzed during that
time. This section of the report will be revised and amplified during
July-August 2001.
