What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Peace of mind. And long nature walks in Gatineau Park, Quebec, in the autumn when the leaves turn, and ice-skating on the Rideau Canal, Ottawa, at midnight when the city is asleep.

What are your greatest fears?
Poverty. Discrimination. And ignorance. Although I work very hard at trying to understand myself and the world I live in to increase my knowledge so I can be more tolerant and accepting of things that are different.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Lack of confidence in myself. I find it hard to trust absolutely and completely.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Selfishness -and insincerity.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Travel abroad. And leaving Canada to live in Europe. I sometimes wonder if I made the right move.

What makes you depressed?
Finding despair in my old age. And limitations placed on people by society.

What do you dislike about your appearance?
My ears and receding hairline.

What is your favourite word?
Sure.

For what cause would you die?
Life is too precious to waste.

Do you believe in capital punishment?
It's barbaric. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I can do that for you.


What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

Greater income.


What would your motto be?

Live every moment as if it was your last.


What keeps you awake at night?

Thinking about the day that has passed. And the future.


How would you like to die?

In my sleep. Without pain.

No.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone who was kind to others.


What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Nothing is forever. We're all vulnerable and different.
