About Me
Dr. P. Suresh Babu was born on 9 September 1977 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his B.E. (Civil Engineering) degree from University of Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, in 1999 and M.E. (Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering) degree from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University-Chennai, Chennai 600025, Tamil Nadu, India, in 2001. He got his Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in 2008 from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University-Chennai, Chennai 600025, Tamil Nadu, India.
His research work is on Rainfall-Runoff modeling, especially dealing with the modification of Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCS-CN) model. His primary research interests include surface water hydrology, remote sensing, geographical information system (GIS), statistical hydrology, applied hydrology and optimization techniques.
He got senior research fellowship (SRF) from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, India for his research work. From Dec 2006 to till date, He is working as an Engineer in Catchment and Waterways Department, Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore.
He is a life member of the Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS), Indian Association of Hydrologists (IAH), and Tamil Nadu Astronomy Association (TANASTRO). He is an annual student member (2006) of the International Water Association (IWA), London, UK. He has international journal publications from his research works. He has participated and presented research papers in international conferences and seminars in India and abroad. He has got foreign travel grants from CSIR and Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, India.
