Bred by Byrna Comsky of Chicago, Illinois, our Cybelle is everything we wanted in a dog and more! After spending some time with Bryna and getting to know her dogs, we knew a puppy from her line was meant to be. Spirited, Confident, & Driven Her tenacious energy and acute intelligence have garnered her many “firsts” in Canada. She is a dog who loves to be the centre of attention and has a definite zest for life. Her love of the “ring”, be it show or performance, is one in which she shines and lives up to her registered name “Northern Confidence” - of whom she was aptly named in memory of her grandfather AKC Ch Shvatim Confidence “Dylan” - a dog who remains an icon in our breed. She is affectionately known by fellow herders as the "little black pistol","the Border Collie in Canaan clothes", and by her owners as the "girl of a thousand adventures". Cybelle’s effervescent personality has coined her many nicknames, “ Bubbles”, being one of our favourites! A Girl Making History On May 21, 2006, "Cybelle" at 8 months old made Canadian history as the first Canaan Dog in Canada to take a Group placement. Under Canadian Judge Phyllis Wolfish, and beautifully handled by Ward Bailey, Cybelle won fourth in the Working Group - there were 12 breeds that day representing the group. On October 7, 2006, Cybelle again made Canadian history as the first Canaan bitch to earn a CKC Championship. Throughout her early show career, she earned Best Puppy in Working Group, a Group Third, and two Group fourths. Along with enjoying the title of ambassadress for the breed in the Great White North, Cybelle is also training and trialing in herding, rally, and formal obedience. She is a dog that exerts a high-drive for sheep and enjoys working with her owners. Cybelle became the first Canaan female in Canada to earn a CKC herding title in 2007 and rally-obedience novice titles from both sides of the border. We are very pleased to consider Cybelle as our foundation bitch for Sufat Sheleg Canaan Dogs. Cybelle has taken a brief break from her performance career to raise a litter in Spring 2008.
