Cybelle continues to enjoy training and trialing in performance events. She finished the summer earning an AKC Rally-Obedience Advanced title. She works beautifully off lead. In the
last trial she was competing against 4 dogs from breeds that are synonymous
with Obedience work....a Border Collie, an Australian Shepherd, a Golden
Retriever, and a Yellow Lab.....they all ate her dust as she zipped around
the arena and picked up first place with a score of 99 out of 100. Who says
Canaan Dogs are not biddable??? :-))) Thus ends the performing part of the
year....now onto planning a future litter .
Cybelle also received a formal invite to the AKC Eukanuba National Championship in Long Beach, California! In keeping with her drive to succeed, Cybelle is the first Canaan Dog in Canada to be invited to compete at this prestigious show, which will take place Sunday December 1st and 2nd, 2007. The invite is offered to the top champion dogs in their breed around the world. Cybelle's invite is also extended to 2008!
Silver-Streak in the Service! Maccabee's son Reckcreate's "Kephas" from the Tally x Macc litter is venturing into the working world. Kephas, at three month's of age passed the necessary temperament requirements to begin his training as a future service dog. Kephas will begin his training with "Paws and Think" an organization that produces skilled assistance dogs for adults and children with mobility and/or hearing limitations and dogs who alert to seizures.
A well mannered pup! At 8 month's old, Maccabee's son MidSummer Seraphim "Phim" from the Jasmine x Macc litter earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate. Big northern congratulations to Phim and his owner/trainer 12-year-old Brandon Bartlett of Oklahoma! Watch out for more successes from this awesome team!
