Sugar gliders are very social animals, which is why they make such a wonderful pet once bonded to their owner. Once a strong bond is formed. sugar gliders will recognize their owners and look for them for social interaction and security.
Establishing a bond with your new pet can sometimes become frustrating and you feel like giving up. The key to sharing a bond with your pet is lots of trust and patience. The glider is going to be scared and may very while crab and bite at you when you first meet. You must always remember they have a reason to be scared, you are much larger than they are and they have no way of understanding right away  that you aren't going to hurt them.
