Flowering Eyebright


Common Name: Eyebright

Family: Scrophulariaceae

Introduction.-- Euphrasia is mainly employed for catarrhal affections of nose and eyes.

Eyes.-- Profuse acrid lachrymation. Eyes water all the time. Agglutination of eyes in morning. Eye lids swollen, red with burning pain.

Nose.-- Profuse bland coryza. Fluent coryza, worse in morning.

Female.-- Amenorrhoea associating catarrhal complaints of eyes and nose. Menses scanty, regular or late. Menses lasting only one hour.

Respiratory.-- Violent cough with profuse expectoration, worse on exposure to warm south winds and on rising in morning. Gaggs to clear offensive mucous from throat, and in this effort vomits food. Pertusis;Excessive lachrymation during cough. Cough only in day time.

Aggravation.-- Evening, in bed, indoors, warmth, moisture, after exposure to south wind,when touched and from light.

Amelioration.-- From coffee and in dark.

Relationship.-- Similar to: Puls. in eye complaints.
Reverse of Allium cepa in eye and nose complaints.
