A moment's hesitation
The merest whisper of a sigh
A hazy luminous indulgence
With no chance to wonder why.

A soft caress upon your shoulder,
Moonlight on your face,
Shadows hide you in their dark grasp,
As you heart begins to race.

A voice that beckons you with pleasure,
Promising you the world, but then…
Comes the daylight strong and strident,
And you're on your own again.
