My Friend

My friends give me their time
even when they are busy.
My friends laugh at my jokes
although they're not funny.
My friends listen to me complain
and don't say, "I told you so."
My friends hug me tight
when l am feeling low.

My friends bring a smile to my face
just by being there.
My friends live in my heart
and my soul.

And if ever I should lose you, my friend,
it will be as if a cloud has passed by
blocking me from the sun's warmth.

But l will feel privilaged
to have had a special friend like you
who has given me memories
that l will treasure forever.
