I started riding when I was nine years old, after finally convincing my mom to let me take a week-long summer camp. That "week" ended up lasting all summer and fall. The next summer I started up again, and I was determined to continue with lessons this time. I soon started weekly lessons with Tanya riding school horses. My weekly lessons eventually became twice weekly and I began to look for a horse to half-lease with Tanya's help. I started to lease Fire, an 18 year old Morgan gelding from my friend Sara, but he unfortunately broke his leg and could not be ridden anymore. I then leased Kastana, who was and still is a school horse at Shadyvale Equestrian Centre. I learned a lot from riding her and had a lot of fun! In the spring of 2003 I started to half lease Arky, Sara's new horse. He took some getting used to, but I'm thrilled to be riding him and learning with him now. I'm looking forward to getting to some shows this year and getting as much experience as I can.
