:::GOALS FOR 2004:::
My goals this year are to do more hunter shows, hopefully up to 3'0, and also to start in Eventing.
:::PROFILE:::
I started riding when I was 9 after visiting my Aunt and Uncle's Tennessee Walker Farm. I had always been interested in horses but it was then that I decided to start in lessons. I started at Shadyvale (with a different instructor) first riding Charlie and then moving on to Suli. Later, after a couple of years riding, I went out to my dad's friend's farm. He had just got a pony that he was looking to sell. After a lot of begging and convincing, my parents decided to buy me my first pony, Flash. Flash had mild string hault, a disease that in her case would just mean that she probably wouldn't be able to jump, and she had a slight limp. I entered Flash in a couple of small fun shows and she managed to get me my first red ribbon! After a while, I started training Flash with Tanya and got interested in jumping. Flash had been a great first pony, but a couple of years later I decided that I wanted to move up from Flash and got my second pony, Amurra. Amurra wasn't quite as laid back as Flash and was quite a brat! After about a year of struggling with Amurra, she amazingly moved on to be a lesson horse and I decided to get a horse that I could really advance with. I looked for a long time before I found Carter. Tanya came with us to look at Carter in Calgary and after one ride we knew he was the horse for me! Carter has been a great horse, though he does seem to always get himself injured in some way. Carter and I have only been to a couple of shows in 2003, which he did very well in. I'm hoping to get him into more shows this year and also start in Eventing.
