(My First) 1967 Camaro
In early 1996 I bought a 1967 Camaro. It was customized (far from stock) of course, but it was still my pride and joy. It had a glass finish paintjob in a color called Garnet Red and it was mechanically sound and ran extremely well. It had a high performance 350, a turbo trans and a quick shifter in the floor. One night while I was out cruising and listening to some cranked rock-n-roll, a lady and her 1995 BMW(brand new at the time) decided that she didnt need her new BMW, and that I didnt need my 67 Camaro, so she failed to yeild the right of way to me and totaled her car and mine. The pics below show the fate of my old 67 Camaro. I had owned it about 2 1/2 weeks. State Farm Insurance made life a tad better, but needless to say I was heartbroken.
My old 67 camaro. Yes thats me in the pic. Nice huh? Pretty metal under there isnt it?
Unfortunately I'm in this pic too This pic shows the better side. Still bad.
They say "All Good Things To Those Who Wait". I don't know if thats true or not, but I waited about 6 years until I bought another 67 Camaro. It took alot of looking, but I found a 1967 SS 350 Camaro that I just couldn't live without. Its got a detailed engine compartment with a 350 and a PowerGlide transmission. Interior is immaculate, there is no rust, 67 style Rally wheels, cowl induction hood (I will add the correct SS hood soon), front and rear spoilers, etc, etc. So far I have done a few things: I bought the correct parts to complete the look of the Rally wheels, put a 1967 driver door mirror on (this one had a 68-69 style mirror when I bought it), added a cool Custom Autosound brand CD changer controller AM/FM radio (with hidden antenna) and a 6 Disc Changer for the trunk. This radio is so cool, it fits the dash perfectly with no mods and looks like an old radio from the 60s era but has hidden features, and sound quality of newer radios such as: CD changer control, 100 watts of power, etc There is a mini pair of stereo Kenwood speakers in the dash in the old factory center channel speaker location as well as a pair of Kenwood 6X9s hidden under the rear deck lid. Also hidden in the trunk as a pair of 10 inch subwoofers in a bandpass box, a Kenwood 9 band EQ w/ sub outs and a four channel Kenwood 742 Amp.

Later I will go with a glass finish repaint in none other than BLACK! Anyway below is a look of my recovery from the above nightmare pic!

(My New) 1967 Camaro SS-350
In the photos above you can get a pretty good look at the front end of this Camaro. It has a front spoiler, SS Bumble Bee Stripe, SS 350 badge on the grill and a cowl induction hood. Although the cowl induction hood is not stock for this vehicle, its supposed to have a SS hood with a smaller scoop and simulated, chrome, oil finned coolers on the hood (the hood on my old 67 in the pic at the very top of the page was an actual 67 SS Hood), but the cowl hood still gives it a rugged look. Cowl Induction hoods were only actually correct for the 69 model, but many 67 and 68 Camaros now have them because many prefer that look. NOTE: The photo below shows the car before I added the white Bumble Bee Stripe around the nose of the car.
Below: We have a look at the interior of this 67 SS 350. There is a speedo and tach in the dash and a battery, oil, fuel and temp gauge on the console as well as a clock. The deluxe SS sterring wheel is a nice option as well. So far I have everything working on the car electronically except the wipers and windsheild fluid pump. Even the console clock now works!
Climb on in and take a seat. Not the driver seat!
Clean for a 67 I think.
