WALT MONAGHAN info

Walt Monaghan (bass)

In 1969, he formed a trio called Rust:

Brian Hillman ()
Walt Monaghan (bass)
Janny Thomas ()
They released an album in Germany.

He was also part of Freedom, a band led by Bobby Harrison (ex-Procol Harum):

Bobby Harrison (vocals, drums)
Walt Monaghan (bass)
Roger Saunders (keyboards, guitar)
They recorded several albums. I don't have them, so any help about info on that would be very appreciated!!!

In 1971, Walt joins the new combo Mick Abrahams Band, formed by this great, veteran guitarist:

Mick Abrahams (vocals, guitar)
Walt Monaghan (bass)
Bob Sargeant (keyboards, guitar)
Ritchie Dharma (drums)
Many years later (in 1997), it was released a live album from this lineup, Live in Madrid (yep, recorded live in Spain!).

In 1972, they augment their lineup with another great adquisition, Jack Lancaster:

Mick Abrahams (vocals, guitar)
Walt Monaghan (bass)
Bob Sargeant (keyboards, guitar)
Jack Lancaster (sax)
Ritchie Dharma (drums)
They parted ways in 1973, when Abrahams and Lancaster reformed Blodwyn Pig. Soon after, he started collaborating with If, in the album Not Just Another Bunch Of Pretty Faces. After a while, he finally joined full time to the band, substituting bassist Mike Tomich. Their following (and last) album was called Tea break is over, back on your 'eads. After several succesful tours, they finally call it a day in 1975.

Around 1979, he joined Ted Nugent band:

Ted Nugent (guitar, vocals)
Charlie Huhn (vocals)
Walt Monaghan (bass)
Cliff Davies (drums)
