Delta IX is a Worcester, MA-area band that has been playing Worcester club
shows for about a year now. The present line-up of musicians has
been together for over a year and a half. Although we
have been playing together on and off for about 5 years, it was only last
year when we realized that we might actually have something unique and
began to take the group very seriously. Our music is a combination
of schooled musicianship and raw musical talent; it has all come together
from the result of hours of continual jamming and incorporating independent
ideas into group material.
Our demo album, Random Acts of Highness, was recorded and completed in
about two weeks. There are a few reasons why we made this album.
First and foremost, we wanted to have a semi high-quality recording of
our songs for our fans and also for ourselves before we left for college.
However, the second main idea was of its use to hopefully help further
our music. This project was completely independently recorded, mastered,
manufactured, and packaged (a total DIY endeavor).
The album contains songs that we have been playing live since we first
started performing. It was originally thought to be a farewell to
this material, but new life has been brought into many songs and have still
been included in our set. Along with these 10 songs, we have been
working feverishly to produce new music. To date, approximately 9
to 10 new works are ready to be performed live (if they have not been already)
along with extra material we do not usually incorporate into a live show
but plan to record on our next album.
Delta IX is looking for the opportunity to grow and expand in the local
music scene. In order to accomplish this, we are looking for opportunities
to perform to a vast audience. We are playing as much as possible
throughout the summer and have a very respectable following that has continually
come out to support us regardless of location. We are a hard-working
quartet that can keep a crowd rocking or just as simply mellow it out.
