S.N.K.

S.N.K.

S.N.K. is the only video game company that can make a better fighting game than Capcom. Their rivalry is intense. As well as I can remember, I think their rivalry began when S.N.K. started their Fatal Fury Series and then blatanly ripped of Street Fighter II by making their World Heroes Series. I really think it got ugly when people were tired of minor upgrades to Street Fighter II and Capcom was going to revive it by adding eight new characters to it. In the middle of this, many of the programmers that made Street Fighter II such a hit left Capcom because they were not getting the attention they deserved...guess where they went? Still don't know? Maybe this will help: Capcom was not able to make the game they wanted to, but they were able to make an upgrade to Street Fighter II Champion Edition Turbo: Super Street Fighter II, with only four new characters. S.N.K, on the other hand released a new game right on the heals of this upgrade: Samurai Showdown. Samurai Showdown had the the look, feel, and control that made Street Fighter II so famous with crisper graphics and a new feel. Haomaru looks just like Ryu with Robert Smith's hair and a sword...this is no coincidence. Since then they have made fun of eachother and copied off of eachother. Capcom began to make fun of S.N.K.'s Art of Fighting Series by making Dan Hibiki a regular pathetic fighter in their new generations of games. When S.N.K. started making their characters interact before a fight, Capcom blatantly ripped this off in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Every great company needs a nemesis to keep them on their toes...Capcom and S.N.K. have found theirs in eachother. -THE HERETIC
