Chapter 31

Ali couldn't believe what she had just said. This what not the time or the place to bring up Richard. Taylor stood there looking confused but deep down inside he now had an idea for what the gun was for. Ali had her mind racing on something to tell him about Richard. She could never tell him the truth of Richard or Tay would object. Objection was not an answer in Ali's head. Suddenly, A thought came to mind.

"Please, let me explain." She begged. Taylor nodded and gave her his full attention. Ali sighed as she took a seat on the bed. Taylor still stood in front of her. "You see, Richard is not in jail for what he did to my mother." Taylor suddenly felt pity towards Ali. He figured some man was arrested but obviously no one was. He could understand now why Ali protected herself the way she did. Taylor carefully took a seat on the chair and stared at Ali as she continued. "Richard IS the man who killed my mother but we never had enough proof." She stopped to look up at Taylor in the eyes. "Richard walked away a free man." Altimately Taylor's eyes widened at the thought of some physco killer walking the streets of the town his girlfriend lived in. Worst of all, the man knew where she lived. Ali felt this amazing amount of guilt rise on her shoulders as she lied. Most of it was true though but she wouldn't dare tell Taylor the rest of the story for the rest was soon to be the future. Tonight, would end the whole Richard thing for good.

"I'm so sorry, Ali." Taylor said getting up and hugging her. He felt sympathy and rage at the same moment. Sympathy towards Ali for having to live in fear for two years and rage towards this man whom he didn't even know who he felt deserved to die himself. They seperated and Ali stood giving Taylor another hug.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but that was something from my world that I never wanted you to see." She said apologetically. "Just like the thing with my father." She half way mentioned. Taylor had completely forgot about the physical abuse Al's father had over her. He thought he would go insane if it were him in that situation but obviously Ali was a strong individual.

"Let's go back downstairs." Taylor said changing subjects. Al walked slowly to the desk and grabbed the gun. She slipped it into the pocket of her bag and threw it over to the courner without another word said as to where it came from or how she got it. Tay put his arms around her and kissed her forehead gently. "Sorry." He whispered.

"Your forgiven,Tay." She said giving him a small smile. The talk had made her in a down mood. "I'll get you some medicine, now." She said breaking away and getting some tylenol from her desk. She handed Tay two tylenol and they walked downstairs hand in hand.

Tara and Isaac were curled up into their bed when Ali and Taylor left the room. They hadn't heard a word said upstairs. Tara lay her head across Ike's chest and listened to his rythmic breathing up anf down. Ike ran his finger gingerly through her golden locks. The two looked so cute together it was unreal. Jason and Cordelia were having a tickle war of some sort. Jason kept tickling Corde's stomach under her shirt and Corde screamed in agony. Pure puppy love. When Tay and Ali came back down they were both extremely quiet. Too quiet for comfort. Sure, they looked happy but Ike could tell looking at Tay's face that something was bothering him. A haunting face was across Tay's face.

"It's too quiet." Tara finally said out loud. "Let's play a game." She said sitting up on her elbows.

"What kinda game?" Cordelia asked after her laughing spree had stopped.

"Who's up for Monoploy?"
