A 2 disc retrospective of Rush's work. It contains many great songs on both discs, however it
fails to acknowledge many of Rush's masterpieces! Disc 1 contains: "Finding My Way" and "Working
Man" which can be found on Rush, "Fly By Night" and "Anthem" from
Fly By Night, "Bastille Day" and "Lakeside Park" from Caress Of Steel,"2112 a.Overture and b. The Temples Of Syrinx"
from 2112 and "What You're Doing (Live)" from All The World's A Stage. It also
contains: "A Farewell To Kings" and "Closer To The Heart" from A Farewell To Kings, "The Trees" and
"La Villa Strangiato" from Hemispheres and "Freewill" and "The Spirit Of Radio" from Permanent Waves.
Disc 2 contains: "Tom Sawyer," "Red Barchetta" and "Limelight" from Moving Pictures, "A Passage To
Bangkok" from Exit... Stage Left, "Subdivisions" and
"New World Man" from Signals, "Distant Early Warning" and "Red Sector A" from Grace
Under Pressure, "The Big Money" and "Manhattan Project" from Power Windows, "Force Ten" and
"Time Stand Still" from Hold Your Fire, "Mystic Rhythms" from A Show Of Hands
and "Show Don't Tell" from Presto. Altogether a great collection but it is
still missing Rush's magnum opus "Xanadu" which can be found on Exit!
Retrospective I is definitely a huge improvement over Chronicles! It contains the
studio version of the "magnum opus!" Magnificent! Purchasing this cd, inspired me to purchase
the digitally remastered version of A Farewell To Kings. Truly a great compilation,
although it contains some filler!
Retrospective I contains: "The Spirit Of Radio" and "Freewill" from Permanent Waves,
"The Trees" and "La Villa Strangiato" from Hemispheres. "Something For Nothing" and "2112
Overture" and "The Temples Of Syrinx" from 2112, "Xanadu" and "Closer To The Heart" from
A Farewell To Kings. It also contains: "Bastille Day" from Caress Of Steel,
"By-Tor & The Snow Dog" and "Fly By Night" from Fly By Night and "Finding My Way" from
Rush.
Retrospective II is the "best so far" released compilation! Too many great songs to mention in one
sitting! Seek it out! Personally, I still prefer Exit... Stage Left!
Retrospective II contains: "The Big Money," "Mystic Rhythms" and "Marathon" from Power Windows, "
Red Barchetta," "Limelight" and "Tom Sawyer" from Moving Pictures, "Subdivisions," "New World
Man" and "The Analog Kid" from Signals, "Time Stand Still," "Mission" and
"Force Ten" from Hold Your Fire, also "Distant Early
Warning," "The Body Electric" and "Red Sector A" from Grace Under Pressure!
