Christian's Letter to Ghoti Hook Fans and Christian's Friends

     Many of you have been wondering why my name is not included on the Ghoti Hook web site. The truth is that I am no longer a member of Ghoti Hook. Many times bands are not very forthright in the explanations of the departure of a band member. I will be.

     After we returned from the spring tours with Stavesacre / Hangnail / Philmore, and MxPx / Hippos I was asked to leave Ghoti Hook. Obviously it came to me as a shock. Since then I have been on vacation for 2 months in California and Bolivia. My trip was used as a way to seek the will and direction of God. God has confirmed that this is the correct decision, I feel peace that God has new things in store for my life right now. If I were to stay it would be going against the will of my friends and band mates, but always more importantly against the will of God. Staying in the band would have only introduced a sense of mediocrity in the goals of Ghoti Hook. As Christians we must not be satisfied with mediocrity, for that same reason I was asked to leave and accepted.

     As far as everything with the band goes, things are fine. There was nothing done or said in bitterness. So our relationships are cordial. As you know the new record has been our priority for the last 2 years. and it is excellent with the most promise of any of our other works. The plans for the band remain the same, to tour and support the record hopefully through continued broadening of the fan base.

     As for me individually. I will most likely get involved in managing and booking bands ...who knows...maybe playing in some. Look for me giving in and fleeing to the vortex, Southern California. Please keep me and the band in your prayers.

     As a final thought. I personally want to thank all of you who I have met throught the years with Ghoti Hook. Many of you have made a difference in my life, I hope that I may have done the same in yours. I am sorry that the opportunity to say goodbye in a more appropriate way was not there. That is fine though because I am only saying goodbye in my capacity as a member of Ghoti Hook, not as Christian Ergueta. I am available via e-mail at ghotitout@juno.com .
