Tuesday, October 27th, 1998 - Noel Reveals the Truth

In an NME interview, Noel revealed that the "Cigarettes & Alcohol" b-side Beatles cover "I Am the Walrus" wasn't really recorded at Glasgow Cathouse, but rather at the Gleneagles Sony Seminar as a soundcheck at an empty hall.

The crowd sounds were mixed in from an album by the Faces, and Oasis, who didn't want to write 'Live At Sony Seminar In Gleneagles', wrote that it was done in Glasgow (the real "I Am the Walrus" at Glasgow Cathouse wasn't as good).

Noel may be in some trouble for revealing the truth on this. "I Am the Walrus", live at Sony Seminar in Gleneagles, is going to be a track on the new Masterplan b-side album.

Thursday, October 22nd, 1998 - Noel Talks About New Album

Good news for those of us who believed that "no new album until the year 2000" crap: Noel wrote 29 new songs (!), and 9 of them have been already demoed at a secret studio just outside London. The other 20 will soon also have demo recordings and then the songs for the next album will be picked out.

Oasis planned taking a vacation (after the "Be Here Now" tour) of over a year, but decided to cut it short to only 9 months since they are so bored. That means they're hoping to have the album come out as soon as next fall.

Probably, the songs that don't make it to the album will appear as b-sides on the 4th album's singles.

Monday, October 19th, 1998 - Noel On Rock the Dock Benefit

Following the "Rock the Dock" benefit album to which Oasis donated DLBIA, Noel teamed up with Pete Townshend and Steve Cradock to peform the Who track "Magic Bus" on the Rock the Dock benefit concert, last Friday (Oct. 16th), at London's Leicester Square.

The Rock the Dock campaign raises money for the Liverpool dockworkers who went on a rightful strike 3 years ago and then got sacked.

Noel also did an earlier solo set and played Stand By Me, Wonderwall, Talk Tonight, Live Forever and the Beatles' track Help.
