On June 17, 1985, the Sntree / Pineda Rotary Club was officially chartered by Rotary International. It was the product of Frank Bradley, it's firsdt president, and other members of the Eau Gallie Rotary Club which served as the sponsoring club. An organizational meeting was held at the Suntree United Methodist Church on May 17, 1985 of prospective members which lead to the chartering one month later. The new club owed a great debt of gratitude to the Eau Gallie Club for its efforts and impetus for subsequent success.
By a unanimous vote of the members on November 6, 1998 the official name of the club was changed to the Suntree Rotary Club. The dropping of Pineda from the name reflected the reality of the growth of the area since the chartering of the club.
