When You Wish Upon a Star...
April 2005
Every year it happens. If you are young, into the new rock music genre,  and into concerts you can look forward to it and be excited at the mere mention of it. It only comes once a year. It is simply known as KFMA Day. This is a huge event for the station. The biggest thing that gets put together every year. Essentially, this is the station's Christmas. It will also be the 6th year that it is put on.

When I first moved to Tucson I attended
KFMA Day 2 with bands like Stabbing Westard, Staind, and 311. Pretty cool considering I just moved back to town, it was much more than Prescott ever had. That was in 2000.

Last year when I started with the station it was about a month before
KFMA Day 5  would hit town. It was awesome and a great thing to start with a new job.  Sadly,  any ideas I had I felt I should just keep to myself. Mainly because I was new, and because I wasn't sure how well recieved they would be. One idea I had was for an actual KFMA Day logo. Every year they just seemed to type out  KFMA Day in a funky font and put a randomb picture in there. It just always seemed a bit cheeseball. Why would I say anything though? I was new. After all, most of the publicity material  was already produced for the event. Fast forward to 2 months ago.

It was decided early that numbering them would end, and they would simply be referred to by the year from now on. After having an idea for an official logo that would simply be a variation of our station's logo I played with the Ol' Photoshop and BAM! I had my idea finally realized. Problem was that I needed others to like the idea as well. So I sent the logo to Program Director  Matt Spry and he seemed really stoked about it. Y'see Matt is a hard cat to read, so when he shows alot of emotion towards something, then he is really passionate about it. I was really happy that they liked the idea. I thought that would be the end of my contributions though. I was wrong.

Every Question Answered
In The End, Yes, It Is Worth It.
Shortly after it was decided that my logo will now be the official symbol of the festival I was asked by my boss Hans if I'd like to take a stab at the poster. To say the least, I was very excited at the idea. Not only would my logo be the symbol but so would my poster. I was given the idea to make a somewhat punk-type poster. Something that would look as though it was put together with scissors and magazine parts. After trials and many hours of modifications the poster was done and it turned out better than everyone expected. I was happy. On top of that, I presented the idea of printing out stickers of the KFMA Day logo that would be distributed as a keepsake from the show. Guess what? It happened. Sorta.

From now until May 7th, my poster artwork is hanging in most Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts locations in Tucson, ALL Domino's Pizza locations in Tucson, and ALL Zia locations in Arizona. The artwork also appears in the Arizona Daily Star, and on flyers that are glued to the top of pizzas ordered from Domino's. Static clings that stick to car windshields are also available (instead of stickers) at all KFMA remotes this month and any remainders will be distributed at the show.

To say the least, I am very excited. Finally I have done something in the artwork realm that can be considered very big. Some say it is the best poster ever made for the station. I take that compliment with joy. Hope you all agree. See you May 7th......

If you've been paying any attention to new video game technology, then you've heard about the new Sony PSP. Some consider it to be a portable Playstation 2. It is new technology at it's absolute best. MP3 player, picture viewer, movie viewer and gaming console. It also costs the same as new technology. For $250 dollars, you too can own one!

On launch day my roomies Chris and Nick both bought one. I'm too poor for one, luckily I can play with theirs. I can also review thiers.

   The morning show on KFMA,
The World Famous Frank Show periodically has me do reviews and stuff for video game oriented news. The PSP was one of them. I went into the show and answered questions and gave the skinny on Sony's new baby.
It was pretty cool. Several of you have commented on having heard it. With KFMA streaming now everyone has the chance to check me out every now and then. I suppose I know what I'm asking for Christmas this year though.... (*wink*)

So what do you do if you've become a multiple New York Times Bestseller, a WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and what many consider to be the best "Hardcore" wrestler in the history of the WWE? Well you go to Tucson, obviously. That is exactly what happened a few weeks ago. Wrestling Superstars Live which consisted of many Old School wrestlers came to town. Many were far past their prime, but they managed to get Mick Foley (a.k.a. Mankind, a.k.a Cactus Jack, a.k.a. Dude Love) to be a special guest. What an interesting show. There where matches you'd have to see to believe. Here is the rundown:  "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Superstar Billy Graham, The Honky Tonk Man, Konnan, Chavo Guerrero Sr., Psychosis, Diamond Dallas Page, & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka.

This all leads me to the pics below. I was able to actually meet "The Hardcore Legend" himself and he signed a poster and took a picture with me. Note that the only way I was able to do this is because the week leading to this event KLPX had interviewed him on-air so I was able to get a pic that nobody else would. I've said this a million times before but, my job kicks ass.
The Future Is Now..
January 2005
Well first off lemme say Happy New Year to you. *Ahem* Happy New Year.

Now that I got that out of the way. As you may have noticed the last update is all disappeared and gone bye, bye. It's cool though because I actually just moved it (it was so graphic heavy). To check it out just go
right here, if you missed it just go there to see what I've been up to te last few months. This way those of you on Dial-Up connections won't be lagging sooo much. I'm looking out for you all.

I'm hoping everyone had some kickass Christmas time. I was pretty happy and was able to spend time with family and friends. I went to Prescott and still get amazed at how much it changes when I go there. I was also able to finally have 'In & Out' to find out the hype. All-in-all a great way to spend the holiday season.

New Years was also pretty cool, though it was spent working, at The Wildcat House for KFMA I still had a good time. There were alot of people and I was able to hang out with the cool peeps I have come to enjoy hanging out with and calling friends from the station. Here are the inevitable pics.
