DRAGON BALLS

The Dragonballs are a set of orange balls that each have stars on them. There are seven dragonballs and each Dragonball has from one to seven stars. Dragonballs are only in Planets that have a Guardian in them. If all the Dragonballs are collected and they are together, they start to glow and finally the a dragon appears. The Dragon can grant someone a certain amount of wishes depending on which Planet they are on. Also, in order for the wishes to be granted, there are certain requirements that apply. After all the wishes have been used up, the Dragonballs scatter away from each other in different directions. Another thing is if the Guardian of the Earth dies, then so does the dragon and the Dragonballs turn to stone.

Dragonballs in Planet Earth

First Guardian: Kami
Dragon: Sheng-Long
In Planet Earth, there were two different Guardians. The first one was Kami, Piccolo's other half. Long ago, Kami came from Namek to Earth hoping to become Guardian. The current Guardian said he couldn't be guardian unless he got rid of his evil side which was Piccolo. Kami agreed thus splitting them into two.

The requirements in Planet Earth aren't that harsh. All someone has to do is collect all seven Dragonballs and ask the Eternal Dragon in English (or Japanese in the Japanese version of DBZ) to grant one wish. Then the seven balls fly away in different directions.

Second Guardian: Dende
Dragon: Sheng-Long

The second Guardian of Planet Earth was Dende. When goku and Frieza, were fighting in Planet Nameks, everyone in Namek but those two were sent to Earth. After a while, the Nameks went to this other Planet. In the Android and Cell Sagas, Piccolo and Kami merged into one again thus making Earth lose their Guardian and making them have no Dragonballs. Goku used his Instant Transmission Technique to go to the planet the Nameks were on and asked the Nameks if Dende could be their Guardian. The Nameks agreed and Planet Earth had a new Guardian.

Once Dende became Guardian, Sheng-long became more capable. Instead of granting only one wish, he could grant two wishes. Also, he could grant more powerful wishes. A person can speak in English to ask Sheng-Long for their wishes.

Dragonballs in Planet Namek
Guardian: Guru
Dragon: Porunga
The requirements in Planet Namek are a little more harsh. There is a password that in supposed to be said in order for the Dragon to come out after collecting all 7 Dragonballs. Also, the password has to be said in the Namekian language. The dragon in Namek can grant 3 wishes, but the wished must be asked for in the Namekian language.

There can only be dragonballs in planets with a guardian in them. In the Frieza Saga, right after Vegeta left Earth to heal, Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma went to this planet called Zekes. There were dragonballs there, but according to one of my site viewers, the aliens were playing mind tricks on the Earthlins.
