I picked up this IC on supraforums for $330 shipped, I could have got it for less, but oh well..
Fist I test fited it using some wire to hold it up so that I could figure out it's final possition..
I had to move the stock IC, as well as the oil cooler, and later had to move the coolant overflow so my brackets would fit...
I was on a very slim budget so I used sewage ABS piping for my IC pipe... it's 2" and has the advantage of being light... but it is not all that heat resistant, so I don't know how long it will last.. all in all the pipeing bits cost me $34
the NPR ic fits very well in the front of the car, it would fit even better if it was about 2-3" longer and not quite so tall...
A friend helped me make up some brackets out of mild steal to hold it up, they were attached to factory mounting points in the car.. (not for the stock IC, but they were accessible..)
The main benefit I see from this unit is it's flow efficiancy, allowing the air from the turbo to make it to the engine with less pressure drop than the stock unit, it does provide enhanced cooling caricteristics as well.
On the road it seams to spool faster, pull harder, and get more power @ lower boost than before.. But FYI I also uped the boost 3psi, and replaced the acordian pipe as well as put in the hardpipes, so it could be a combination of all these, but after it was in, there was a very significant increase in both power and top end responce... it plows uphill in excess of 120mph... not to bad for a 3700lb+ car ...
if I had any $$ I would dyno it, but untill my only upgrades are $600+ I will keep buying them.. then I will tune.
