Project Information
|
Seminar – Large Scale
Structure of the Universe ( Prof Urjit Yajnik ) –
The Seminar involves study of the Large scale structure of
the Universe. It involves preliminary study of General Relativity
and its application to Cosmology in the form of the Friedmann
Robertson Walker Metric. It involves curve fitting from recently
obtained data from the Supernova Cosmology Project and testing of
stringy matter as a part of the Universe.
Star Tracker
-TIFR ( Prof Mayank Vahia)
– Part of a six member team which is
working on the design of a star tracker used to guide a telescope which is supposed to be
flying 40 km above the surface of the Earth and supposed to collect
data from there. Involves star pattern matching software to be
written and the automation.
Course
Projects:
Serial data
transfer : Involved making a transmitter capable of
sending data serially and a corresponding receiver at the other
end to synchronously latch the incoming serial data parallely. The
design was tested and worked even at frequencies of 1 Mhz.
Programming
projects : Karnaugh Map minimisation algorithm
implementation, Conversion of a Canonical Sum of Products form to
a Canonical Product of Sums form, implementation of State
minimisation by K equivalence algorithm, design of hardware
circuits with the given flipflops.
Simulations:Simulation
of the Kirkwood gap in the Asteroid Belt due to the presence of
Jupiter. It involved demonstration of the phenomenon of resonance
in gravitational systems.
Operating
Systems worked on :
Unix,
Solaris, Windows.
Programming Languages
:
C++, Fortran 90
