SURVIVOR 7 ~ PEARL ISLANDS SUMMARY

SURVIVOR SEVEN opened on a sailboat with 16 contestants thinking they were heading for a Press Conference. No-one was allowed to speak to each other until the game was starting. Little did they know... When the boat stopped, they all met Jeff on the deck who explained that the game had, indeed, already begun. This time, they were not allowed to take their carefully packed bags, their watches, passports, money or anything at all. They would be dumped overboard with only the clothes they were wearing. Jeff had them put all of their personal posessions into a bag and then he sorted them into teams.

DRAKE, which would always wear blue, consisted of: Burton, Christa, Jon, Michelle, Rupert, Sandra, Shawn and Trish.

MORGAN, which would always wear orange, consister of: Andrew, Darrah, Lillian, Nicole, Osten, Ryan O., Ryan S. and Tijuana.

Once the teams were sorted, Jeff told them to jump overboard, go to the fishing village with a limited amount of currency and buy what they think they will need for their 39 days. They also needed to save enough money to charter a boat to their individual islands. So off they went to the fishing village. Drake arrived first and as Rupert sat with their small raft, the Morgan team came along and dropped their raft beside him and ran off to make some deals. Rupert noted that since this game was revolving around piracy, he would get into the spirit of it all and he took everything out of Morgan's raft and traded for goods. Meanwhile, Sandra of Drake was speaking the language and making fantastic deals for her tribe. For Morgan, Osten was removing his clothes and trading them for goods. He was left down to his underwear, but felt it was necessary to help the team.

Once all the deals were done, both teams chartered their boats and headed for their islands. However, there was no celebrating once their destinations were met. The teams immediately went to work on shelters and getting water. Drake followed their map and found water easily, although they were all being eaten alive by mosquitos. On the other island, Morgan went for a team walk along the beach searching for a water source. They found a stream of rust-colored water and started dipping into it. No-one was particularly happy about having to drink that.

That night at Morgan, sleep did not come easily. They had built their shelter against a wall of shale rock and were swarmed by hermit crabs who spent their night biting the castaway's bums. Next morning, the team needed water in a big way. Tijuana happened to be looking at the map and found the location of their water source written there. So Ryan S. and Lillian headed out to get some water while the rest of the tribe made a new shelter.... away from the hermit crab wall.

Over at Drake, the team was celebrating by drinking some wine they had purchased in the village. Jon showed his true colors by being the "joker" of the tribe, telling off-color jokes that wore thin really quickly. Next morning, the team complained about sleeping soaking wet. Rupert had a terrible time with his jeans. They here heavy, wet and rubbing him. The team started to create jungle wear. Shawn cut his Armani suit apart, Christina cut her dress apart and made a skirt for Michelle and a skirt for Rupert. Yes, the big man wears a skirt. LOL! After a while, Shawn and Burton took the spear gun and went fishing. They caught a fish and everyone was happy. Back at camp, Rupert looked at the little fish cooking and knew that would never feed the tribe. So he took the spear and went off to try too. Rupert came up with six fish, wanting to have eight so everyone could have one of their own, but he got tired. Burton and Shawn were not happy as their fishing job had been usurped.

Next day, the tribes found tree mail. Their first Immunity Challenge was upon them. The challenge had the teams move their canon through an obstacle course. First team to cross the finish line would win Immunity. The teams were very close all the way through the race. However, Osten's drawers kept falling down so he took them off. In support of their teammate, Ryan O. and Andrew stripped of their undies too and ran the course naked. Funny thing here, the screen showed DRAKE LEADING and then MORGAN BEHIND over a shot of naked men's bottoms pushing the canon. LOL! Drake eventually won the challenge by a meer foot, sending Morgan to Tribal Council.

Back at Morgan camp, Andrew noted that Ryan S. didn't do a whole lot of work and he claimed that he did not give 100% at the challenge. It was agreed that Ryan S. would be voted out... until... Nicole started talking to others about how Tijuana was "bugging" her. Some harsh talk started up within the tribe then.

At Tribal Council, Jeff had them light their torches and have seats. He asked them briefly about how the team was getting along, etc. Some said water was a problem, some said sleep was a problem. When the votes were tallied, Nicole was FIRST voted off the island by 7-1.

EPISODE TWO opened at the Morgan camp the night of Tribal Council. They were all freezing. With no extra clothing or blankets of any kind, no-one was comfortable. Sleep was not coming easily to any of them, their shelter very uncomfortable and inhospitable. Next day, they found some tree mail. Their first Reward Challenge was upon them. Ryan S. said he desperately needed to prove himself in this challenge to get their critical eyes off him.

Morning at the Drake camp saw Rupert working very hard to get some firewood for the Tribe. He commented how he was absolutely loving being there, loving the souls around him and feeling very strong. Once again, he went fishing and caught a good bunch of fish. Everyone was eating well.

At Snapping Duck Bay, the two Tribes met Jeff for their first Reward Challenge. Jeff explained that they had to go diving for five treasure items ... one at a time ... and place them in their treasure chest. When five divers had put the items in the chest, they all had to swim out, dive down and bring their treasure chest up on the shore. First to complete the tasks would win Reward. The reward was that each team would get a shovel and key, and the winning team would win part of a treasure map. When all three parts of the treasure map were won, over the next competitions, there would be a treasure of unimaginable goodies for them. "With enough bounty" says Jeff, "to last you for a long, long time." As well as this, the winning Tribe would be allowed to go over to the losing Tribe's camp and loot one item. This is, after all, a game of piracy! Morgan sent Ryan S. out first and he seemed to be having real problems. He didn't look to be too strong a swimmer. While Ryan S. was getting one item and trying to find the treasure chest, two Drakes had completed their task. In the end, Drake won this competition easily. Ryan S. looked like he wanted to throw up.

At Drake, they unravelled the third of the map and read the clue. They took guesses at where it could be and then started discussing what they wanted to loot from the Morgan camp. They were all agreed that they wanted another water jug and sent Sandra off to do the looting. Over at Morgan, a very dejected bunch of Tribe members returned to their camp. Osten told everyone that if they take their tarp, he's done. So they waited and finally, Sandra came along and was trying to be friendly. She introduced herself to everyone and had a walk around. She noted that they really didn't have anything and went on the hunt for the water jug. When she did not find it, she decided to take the tarp. They told her that if she wanted it, she'd have to take it down herself. They would not allow her to use their knives or cut their ropes. So Sandra untied their ropes, put their palm fronds down carefully, told them she was being as careful as possible and took the tarp. After Sandra left, Osten told them he was ready to leave. He told them, "That's it, I'm done." Andrew was devastated by this. Tijuana tried to talk to Osten about this decision but Osten was certain he was bound to get pneumonia and did not want to put his body through that.

At Drake, Shawn went fishing but didn't do too well. He lost the end of the spear. He came back and told Rupert that it was lost in the ocean and Rupert did not receive this news well. Shawn was clearly devastated by this and asked Rupert to help him find it. So they went out looking for it over an arera of approximately five football fields. However, Rupert was successful and celebrated big time, by yelling at the top of his lungs when he got back to shore. That was one happy Rupert. LOL!

All of a sudden it was time for the Immunity Challenge. Jeff explained that the task was to have three Tribe members tied onto a raft. The other team's Tribe members would pull them out further into the water. The person tied on the raft had to work to become untied and then untie the others. Once they were all untied, they had to bring their ropes and a bamboo tube that was tied to the raft and swim back to shore. Once on shore, they had to get their map out of the bamboo tube, read their map and lay their ropes out according to the co-ordinates and dig in the sand where the ropes intersected. As soon as they came up with their flag, they had to put it on their flag pole and put their flag pole into it's slot. Whoever finished this first would win Immunity. It was a very close race but Drake came up with their flag first and won Immunity, sending Morgan back to Tribal Council for the second time in a row.

At Morgan's camp, in the pouring rain, the Tribe members were devastated. Osten went up to Ryan S. and told him to make sure he votes him out. Then Osten went to Andrew and Andrew told him that without him, the tribe has no hope. Osten continued to be fearful of getting pneumonia for some reason. Perhaps trading all of his clothes in the village was not as smart a move as he thought. At Tribal Council, Jeff asked point blank what the problem was. Andrew insisted it was sleep depravation. Jeff asked what could possibly be going on that these sleep issues are not adressed yet. Andrew blamed Sandra for taking their tarp. Andrew also said that starting the very next day, this Tribe was going to get themselves together and fight hard. When all of the votes were tallied, "Skinny" Ryan S. was voted off the island by 5-2.

EPISODE THREE opened at Morgan camp on Day 7. Morale was very low as they pondered all of the losses they had endured. Lillian was very sad that her "best friend" in the Tribe had been voted off. She worked very hard and noted to Andrew that Darrah didn't do anything at the camp. Andrew told the Tribe members that they all had to take it up a notch, suck it up and win the next challenge. Later on, tree mail arrived with a hint for the Reward Challenge. They were determined to get this one, they needed it more than any other.

At Drake, the Tribe members were off on another buried treasure hunt. They all took their canoe out and tried to guess at where the treasure might be. They dug and dug... in places where the high tide would completely cover the sand. Didn't make sense as Rupert pointed out. When the tree mail arrived, they discussed who was going to sit out. They had to sit two and Jon volunteered to sit before the Challenge was even revealed. Jon mentioned that he was not the strongest swimmer, but he was better than... say... Sandra. OOPS! Sandra and Jon got into a nasty shouting match, yelling and hollering and swearing at each other about who was the better swimmer. Sheesh. Jon and Sandra became enemies right then and there.

The two Tribes paddled their canoes out and met Jeff at Snapping Duck Bay for the Reward Challenge. This Challenge had the two Tribes battling in their boats. The object of the game was for one Tribe, divided into two boats, would sink the other Tribe's boats. The Reward was a mattress, pillows, blankets, part of the treasure map and a looting expedition. Initially, Morgan was doing very well against Drake, but for some reason, the boat with Tijuana, Lillian and Osten moved away and left the other Morgan boat surrounded by Drakes and going down fast. They rejoined the fray and Osten stood up to put pressure on the Drake boat to fill it with water, but inadvertently sunk his own boat from his weight. With that boat out of the picture, the two Drake boats ganged up on the remaining Morgan boat and it was over. Drake won the second Reward Challenge.

Night time at Morgan saw the team taking yet another loss very personally. There were tears and dejection in torrents at the camp. They tried to discuss the situation and how to rectify it and came up with the theory that they are doubting themselves. Lillian said they need food so she was determined to go fishing. First thing next morning, off she went before anyone woke up. Ryan O. told the Tribe that this had to stop... the separation and lack of team work. Meanwhile, Lillian was fishing and lost the only hook they had. She went back to the camp and had to tell the others what had happened. Andrew and Ryan O. were devastated by this news.

At Drake, they put the two pieces of the treasure map together and saw that they were going in the right direction. This made them happy. The team decided that Christa would go off to Morgan and do the "looting" this time. Sandra gave Christa lots of words of advice about going over. They had decided to try again for the water pot. There was some discussion about taking away their water and how they needed water to live! However, this was a pirate game... so off Christa went. She arrived on the shores of the Morgan Tribe and introduced herself. She told them over and over how badly she felt, but went for one of two water pots they had. She was VERY relieved that they had two. She kept asking for hugs and apologizing. LOL!

The Immunity Challenge came up and the two Tribes canoed out to Shark Beach where Jeff met them and explained the Challenge. The smallest member of each Tribe was harnessed up and suspended over the water. The others would have to hold the rope that was keeping the smallest members out of the water. At 5 minute intervals, the supporting Tribe Members would have to let go of the rope until only the two anchors were left... Rupert and Osten. Then it would become a battle of will and strength. Rupert and Osten held out for two hours, but eventually, Osten let go and Drake won Immunity. Morgan was destined to head back to Tribal Council... Again.

The Morgan Tribe returned from the Immunity Challenge totally dejected and didheartened. Private conversations started about who to vote out. Andrew asked Lillian how she would feel about being voted out. Lillian said she'd be devastated, but thanked Andrew for having the guts to come up and talk to her about it. At Tribal Council, Jeff informed them that they are one of the losingest Tribe ever. He asked them if Drake was simply a better Tribe. Tijuana said, no they're not because Morgan is focused and unified. Jeff could scarecely believe his ears. He told them they self-destructed at their challenges and they're still sitting there saying they're doing okay! Jeff then told them that if they lose four more Tribal Councils, there will be no Tribe left! Andrew told him their strong will can get them through. After the votes were cast, Lillian was voted off the island by 5-1.

EPISODE FOUR opened at the Morgan camp on Day 10. The tide was rapidly rising and threatening their shelter. Instead of moving it back from the shoreline, they decided to build a sand wall and place logs as a break. The tide shoved the logs around and washed their sand wall away almost as quickly as they could create it. The Tribe members were very devastated; their morale was extremely low about losing another Immunity challenge and having had to vote Lillian out. It seemed to them that everything was stacked up against them.

At Drake, Jon was working away and he got into an arguement with Shawn about who was doing the most work. Trish noted that the mood was very strange at the camp. Personalities were starting to clash and clear divisions were becoming apparent.

It was Reward Challenge time and the two Tribes met Jeff at the beach. This time the Tribes had to retrieve 16 pieces of a puzzle, one at a time. Eight pieces were submerged under the water and eight pieces were buried in the sand. Each Tribe member had to take turns retrieving one piece at a time, get all of the pieces back to their puzzle board and put it together to win Reward. The prize for completing first was a sewing machine, material, a sewing kit and, of course, a piece of the map to their buried treasure. So the game began. PERSONAL NOTEKNOWING that Osten is not a strong swimmer, having witnessed his previous attempts to complete water challenges, WHY did they not tell him to do the sand pieces while the rest of them handled the water pieces? To me, Morgan could have won this challenge if they had kept Osten out of the water. As it was, Osten went out to try and dive down and get his first piece of the puzzle. He ran into some trouble and was unable to even tread. Andrew and Ryan had to swim out and bring Osten in. It's no suprise that Drake won this Reward challenge.

At Drake camp, they started putting the sewing machine to use. Rupert needed a new skirt and went to work making one. He was the object of ridicule from Burton and Shawn and it was wearing thin on many of them. Soon they got the third piece of their map out and went off on their search for their treasure. It turns out they had been there before but had not been digging in the right place. So they unearthed it and found that a lot of it had gone moldy. However, there were chocolates, liquor, beef jerky, blankets, jewelry, canned food, sugar, honey, coffee beans, goblets, mosquito net and a hammock.

Over at Morgan, Ryan and Andrew decided to head to the other side of the island to try and catch some fish. They went a very long way, got very lost and used up all of their water. It was not looking good for them. In the meantime, Trish came over to loot their camp. She decided, in the end, to take their one lantern. At least it wasn't their only water pot. So Trish headed back to Drake. In the meantime, Andrew and Ryan finally made it to the other shore. The water was extremely rough and they realized they were not where they planned to be. So they headed back.

That night at Drake, Burton woke up and saw that Rupert was awake. So they went for a walk and Burton suggested to Rupert that they throw the next Immunity Challenge and get rid of Christa. Rupert listened diplomatically, but he was NOT amuzed by this. Next morning, Jon went and got the "Sea Mail" for the Immunity Challenge.

Over at Challenge Beach, the two Tribes met Jeff, who explained that this was like a chess game over water. Each Tribe member had to move, one space at a time, to get to their own boat and be safe. If blocked by an opposing Tribe member, the two would have to engage in a battle to stay on the platform. The one who hits the water would have to go back to the start. (Rupert sat this challenge out because he would not, in good conscience, throw a challenge). The first Tribe to get all of their members safely to their boat would win Immunity AND a suprise. For the first time, Morgan won. We're not sure if Drake really did throw this challenge or not, but it was good for the Morgan people to finally win something. Then Jeff revealed the "surprise". The winning Tribe was allowed to choose one member of the losing Tribe to come with them until the next challenge. Morgan chose Rupert. So Rupert went "home" with the happy Morgan Tribe.

At Drake, there was much discussion of Rupert's absence and who was going to be voted out. Jon, all tanked up on some form of liquor, was "entertaining" the group quite boisterously. Little did everyone know, Jon had an alliance with everyone in one form or another. There was a division in the Tribe as to who was going to be voted out. It was down to Christa and Burton. Shawn noted that his alliance was going to vote for Christa. If Christa did not go that night, they'd know for sure that Jon was not with them. At Tribal Council, Jeff welcomed them to their first one. Jeff asked Jon what the mood was like in the Tribe. Jon said, "Awesome, awesome, awesome." Jeff asked Jon if he was loaded. Jon said yeah. Jeff moved on and asked about friendships and challenges. Jeff wanted to know why they sat out their strongest (Rupert and Burton) during that physical challenge. They responded that it was a rotation thing and it was their turn. Eventually, Jeff asked Jon what he was basing his vote on. Jon told him, "Whatever the astrological signs tell me." Trying to be funny. Jeff was CLEARLY not amused by this behavior. Jeff asked him, "Is that a respectful way to treat somebody you've lived with for twelve days?" Jon said, "Maybe. Maybe not. We'll find out in a few minutes." Then the voting began. In the end, Burton was the FOURTH person voted off the island by 5-2. Everyone had Jon's number now. He could not be trusted. And his performance at tribal Council clearly ticked Jeff off. Here's hoping Jon's days are numbered.

* * * * * * *

EPISODE FIVE opened at Drake Camp after the Tribal Council. There was discussion over who voted for who. It seems Jon had convinced Shawn to vote to get Burton off. Then they all had a "trash Burton" session. They told Michelle they knew it was her that voted for Christa and it didn't matter... but Michelle thought otherwise. Next day, they Tribe members were concerned that Rupert was disclosing too much information about the Drake Tribe to the Morgan Tribe.

At Morgan Camp, Rupert surveyed his new temporary home. He explained to them that when the moon got full, the tide would rise another two feet at least. Their shelter would be destroyed. So Rupert urged them to move the shelter. They decided to move it back another forty feet, closer to the jungle. Osten did not agree with that because of the mosquitos and snakes. So the Morgan Tribe discussed it at length. Rupert noted he knew exactly why these people didn't win anything. There was so much in-fighting and arguing, they never got anything done. They had a vote and Osten was voted down. The shelter was moved. Later, Rupert was very discouraged by the lack of watrer and food. Rupert took Ryan out to teach him how to fish. He taught them all how to use the fishing spear they had and he provided them with a lunch of fish. Andrew was majorly impressed with Rupert's work ethic and his ability to feed the Tribe.

At the Reward Challenge, Jeff explained that this Reward had them paddle a canoe out to four wooden crates. At each crate, one Tribe member would dive down and retrieve pieces to a ladder. When all pieces were on the boat, they had to paddle the boat back to the shore and put the ladder together while one member ran through the jungle to a well. That Tribe member had to pull an idol out of the well and bring it back to shore. When the ladder was all put together, one of them had to climb the ladder and put their idol on top of a platform to win. The Reward was a portable shower, water cans, soaps, shampoos, water pot, rain jackets and of course, the buried treasure map if Morgan won. When the competition started, I kept thinking they'd better not let Osten do any diving. LOL! Jon, on the rudder of the Drake boat, was making a huge mess of it. Morgan took a lead and kept it, winning their first Reward Challenge. At the end, Jeff told Rupert that he could go back with the Drakes or he could return with Morgan, share in the Reward and then go home. Rupert immediately went to the Drake Tribe. He said, "I love you guys, but I want to go home."

At Morgan, everyone was happy for having finally won a Reward. They dug into the shower stuff and took turns getting clean. Everyone had a positive attitude.

At Drake, the team welcomed Rupert home. They asked him questions about the other island and he only told them that Morgan had barely any food left. He also noted that Osten won't get in the water, doesn't go to get water, doesn't help, etc. Soon, the boat pulled up for the ritual looting of the opposing team's camp. Rupert told Andrew, "You can take whatever you want, but I'm going to show you what I want you to take." Rupert immediately took him to the food supply and told Andrew to take some rice. Morgan needed food badly. So Andrew gratefully took the rice and headed back. Later, they went to get their 'Sea Mail' and by the clue on the parchment, they knew that they would be eating something really disgusting. The Tribe agreed that since Michelle seemed prepared and ready to take the task on, she should put on a show of gagging and being all "girly girl" about it so if it came to a tie-breaker, the Morgan Tribe would pick her and she'd fake them out. Sounded like a good plan.

At the Immunity Challenge, it was "Fear Factor" time. One by one, a member from each Tribe would meet Jeff and throw a Tribe-colored ball into the roulette wheel. Whatever the two balls landed on would be the two foods that would be put in a blender and drank as a smoothie. There was squid, mangos, sardines, razor clams, bleeding clams, conch, red shellfish, octopus, rock oysters, coconut juice and sea water. Not one of them backed down. Everyone handled the competition very well. It came down to a tie of 7-7 so the tie-breaker was needed. But Michelle didn't do what she said she was going to do. She downed her "smoothie" without any fuss and Morgan did not choose her to break the tie. It came down to Sandra and Darrah. Sandra simply could not finish hers and Darrah won... getting Immunity for Morgan again, sending Drake back to Tribal Council.

At Drake, Sandra was incredibly remorseful. She apologized time and again for not beating Darrah in the tie-breaker. Meanwhile, Jon was ticked off that Michelle didn't do what was planned and that a sardine seemed to be bigger than Sandra. Michelle and Rupert were off gathering wood and talking. They spoke about getting rid of Shawn, but then Michelle raced off to vomit. So Rupert continued to talk to her while she gagged and threw up and tried to talk to him. At Tribal Council, Jeff spoke with them about losing three challenges in a row. He asked Sandra if she was worried for losing the tie-breaker. She said that if she went, she knew why. Jon then admitted that they threw the first challenge they lost and Rupert said that he thought it was a huge mistake to throw a challenge and he wanted no part of it. When the voting was finished, Michelle was the FIFTH person voted off the island by 6-1.

* * * * * * *

EPISODE SIX opened at Drake Camp after the Tribal Council. The Tribe members discussed Michelle and how she left with a lot of class. As they stirred their fire up, they spoke about how direct Jeff was with his questions. Rupert apologized if he upset anyone with his comments to Jeff. In the last episode, Rupert had found an injured snake (a small one) in the water and took it back to camp to nurse it back to health. He checked on his snake as they all discussed Tribal Council around the fire. Next morning, the snake he lovingly called Balboa was dead. Rupert was truly distraught by this and he buried the snake instead of "using it for bait." Later, Rupert decided to raise the shelter up a couple of inches to stop them being bitten at night. Everyone was in agreement with that except for Shawn. Shawn started arguing and got the "finger" from Jon. Shawn kept on and on about it and Jon eventually blew up at him. "You're doing more not to work than working!" Shawn told Jon to just relax and shut up. Shawn started helping and they fixed the shelter up again.

Over at Morgan, a pelican was wandering near camp. Osten was clearly not amused by this. Is there ANYTHING Osten likes??!! Ryan took to the bird and they played on the beach and near camp and called him Pelican Pete. Pete started following Ryan around and came into the camp, under the shelter with them. Osten started talking about taking a machete and chopping the bird's head off. As the pelican tried to take bamboo out of the shelter, Osten started sharpening the machete. Ryan tried to shoo the pelican away and told Osten that he was being an idiot and to relax. Soon the pelican was gone and camp got back to normal.

The Reward Challenge came up and the all met Jeff at challenge beach. This time, they had one cannon ball each that they had to shoot at the opposing team's targets. First team to take out all of the other team's target would win Reward. Jeff then showed them a bar-b-que grill, utensils, lobster, spices and steaks. Also included, if Morgan won, would be another piece of the map and, of course, the looting of the other Tribe's camp. In the end, Drake won the Reward.

Back at Drake camp, they set up the grill and put the pot on to boil for the lobster. The Tribe members ate VERY well. Next morning, Jon was awakened to go over and loot the Morgan camp. He claimed he was going to have a lot of fun at their expense. When he got there, he was welcomed by Tijuana and Andrew. Jon was actually very nice to them initially. Andrew gave Jon some shampoo and welcomed him to wash his hair. Andrew commented to Jon that it's tough to lose six challenges. Jon then said, "Technically, it's seven. We threw one to get rid of Burton." Jon then went on to rub it in and tell them how they threw the challenge. Andrew didn't say anything at the time, but he was mightily miffed at this idiot. When Jon washed his hair, took their cooking pot and left, the Morgan Tribe members discussed the "seventh" challenge. They called it bad sportsmanship and were totally ticked.

Over at Snapping Duck Bay, the two Tribes met Jeff for the Immunity Challenge. This one was all about weight. Three Tribe members had to stand on a box each with a pole across their shoulders. Each round, weight would be added to those poles until they could not take it any longer. The decision of which Tribe member gets the weight added to those poles would be made by only two members of the opposing Tribe. When they could no longer bear the weight, they were to drop the pole and they were out. The last person standing with weight would win Immunity. The Morgan team immediately went after Rupert and each of the two put a 20 pound sacks of sand on his pole. The Drake team put two on Osten. Morgan kept going after Rupert and the Drake team started going after Andrew and dividing it between him and Osten. Osten dropped his pole first at 160 pounds. Morgan kept loading Rupert down and Rupert dropped his. Drake started weighing Andrew and Ryan down as Morgan went after Shawn and Christa. Shawn dropped out and left Christa standing there for Drake against Ryan and Andrew for Morgan. Christa dropped out and Morgan won Immunity. Andrew was in tears.

At Drake Camp, the Tribe members were totally bummed out. Trish was saying that one person has a heck of a lot of power right now. She was gunning for Rupert. Jon agreed. Sandra told Christa what the big plan was so Christa turned around and told Rupert. Rupert told Shawn what was going on and that Jon and Trish were going to come and sway him to get Rupert out. Rupert suggested that they turn it around and get rid of the "bad apple" Trish. So when Jon came and talked to Shawn about getting rid of Rupert, he agreed to go along with it.

At Tribal Council, Jeff talked about the challenge. They sure didn't expect to be there with full stomachs and strength on their side. Jeff then said to Rupert, "I'd be lying if I didn't say you look incredibly sad." Rupert told him he was ready to cry. Jeff asked why. Rupert said, "We shouldn't be here. I'm upset at the way the Tribe has gone. We started out so strong and now we are not. It's hard to pull everyone together.... Can't lose hope." He mentioned that the Tribe seems to see him as unneeded and that he felt he might be going tonight. Rupert was very upset and sad. Jeff didn't even talk to Jon at this Council. (yay) When the voting was over, Trish was the SIXTH person voted off the island by 4-2.

How COOL is this picture?? Had to share it!

EPISODE SEVEN opened at Drake camp after Tribal Council Rupert was on the warpath, hollering "Who voted for me? Who put my name down?" Jon admitted that he did, as well as Trish. Rupert went off on him. I swear I thought Rupert was going to strangle him. Rupert insisted that he was doing everything he could to keep the Tribe fed and happy and this is how he was repaid. Jon said, "I'm not the one who came up with the idea." Rupert asked who did. Jon told him the one that is gone. So Rupert looked him in the eye and asked, "And who wrote my name down?" Eventually, it got settled, but Rupert will never trust Jon again. On the way back from getting their tree mail, they decided to make some coconut popcorn. Jon started chopping coconut for it and Shawn mentioned they probably didn't have time. So, once again, Jon and Shawn got into a MUGE screaming match with each other. It really looked like it was going to come to blows. In fact, they called each other on but eventually backed down.

Over at Morgan, they huddled in the shelter against a nasty storm that blew in. They couldn't get to the ocean to try and get fish to eat. They were miserable. Andrew was speaking with Osten for a while and he noticed that Osten's eyes had no life in them. He knew Osten didn't sleep that night. They were exhausted and hungry.

Expecting a Reward Challenge, the two Tribes met Jeff at Challenge Beach. Jeff told them, "Nineteen days you've been out here on the Pearl Islands. You have survived the bugs, the lack of food, the miserable living conditions and the ever-shifting Tribal dynamics. Together, you've voted six people out of this game. Three from Morgan and three from Drake. The reasons you voted these people out vary. The only real common trait among the six people you voted out is, they're no longer in this game. But that may soon change. Morgan, Drake, your past has come back to haunt you. Come in guys." Everyone looked and in marched Michelle, Ryan S., Nicole, Lillian, Burton and Trish. They formed a new Tribe called The Outcasts. In this do-or-die challenge, all three teams had to compete against each other. If Morgan or Drake lost against the Outcast Tribe, they would have to go to Tribal Council and vote someone out. Then the Outcast Tribe would go to Tribal Council and vote someone IN. If both Morgan and Drake lost, one member from each Tribe would be voted out and two members from the Outcasts would be voted in. In addition, the new Outcast member of the Tribe would be immune at the next Tribal Council to give them a chance to fit back in. The challenge was a series of rescues. Each bamboo prison had three cells in it. One Tribe member had to race down to the beach and retrieve their flag, then come back and dig under the "wall" to get to the first cage/cell. He/she would release the tied up Tribe mate and then they would dig to get into the second cage where they would release two more Tribe Mates. Then they had to dig into the third cage where they had to put a long pole together to reach keys to unlock their door and escape. The stakes were HUGE. In the end, The Outcasts beat the other two Tribes, sending both Morgan and Drake back to Tribal Council to vote off one member each. Their replacements would be Outcast team members.

Over at Morgan, the Tribe members were frustrated and shocked. Andrew stated that those six had no right to be there. He did not want any of those "misfits" to win this game and, as soon as the Outcast was not immune, they had to go. So they started discussing having to vote someone out and Osten spoke up. He told them with all sincerity and honesty that he was done in and he simply could not play this game anymore. He totally quit and there was nothing that could be done about it. Morgan had to accept that.

At Drake, the Tribe members were angry and shocked at the turn of events. They were mostly upset about this second chance the Outcasts got. Rupert, Christa and Sandra stood together and discussed whom they would vote out. Sandra suggested that the three of them approach the other two and ask them to give them the reasons why they should not be voted out. Shawn said he was honest and had never stabbed anyone in the back like Jon did. Jon told them that he is straight and is a harder worker. Also, he can cut coconuts better than anyone. HUH?! ANYWAY........

Drake went to Tribal Council first. Jeff greeted them and asked what their reaction was at the challenge. They were shocked by it. Jeff asked what happened when they got back to camp. Sandra told Jeff what they had done... now it was up to voting. In the end, Shawn was the SEVENTH voted off the island with all four votes.

Next came Morgan's turn at Tribal Council. Jeff asked Andrew what happened when they got back to camp, being suddenly faced with Tribal Council. Andrew told Jeff that as soon as they got back to camp, Osten asked them all to write his name down as he is finished in this game. Jeff looked at Osten and asked, "You done, Osten?" Osten went on about how tired he was, how much he hurt. Jeff asked the others how much of this experience was about finding out what you're made of. They all agreed that there's no way they'd quit. No way they'd give up. Jeff asked Osten if he questioned his decision. Osten said absolutely not. After talking to the other Tribe members, Jeff asked for a formal vocal vote from everyone. They all agreed that if Osten wanted to go home, he could do so. Jeff said that in the years he's been doing this, he has never seen anyone quit. He asked Osten to get his torch. Jeff snuffed out the flame and said, "Osten, per your wishes, go home." When Osten was gone, Jeff took the torch and threw it on the ground. Then he said, "With all due respect to Osten, people work too damned hard to get in this game and fight to stay alive. If he wants to lay his torch down, so it shall be. Who knows, maybe this is the best thing to happen to the Morgan Tribe. All I know is, you will head back to camp. Soon after, a new Tribe member will arrive and I can promise you this: that person wants to be in this game." Jeff was NOT impressed by Osten's performance. That much was obvious.

EPISODE EIGHT opened on a stormy night at the third Tribal Council. The "Outcasts" filed in, smiling. Jeff congratulated them on a job well done. He asked for their reactions to the news that they could come back. They all said how happy they were as well as the chance for Revenge being so sweet. Jeff gave each of them a chance to plead their case as to why they should be voted back into the game. After they all spoke their minds, it was time to vote. In the end, Lillian and Burton were voted back into the game. They then reached into a bucket to take out a buff which would decide which Tribe they would go to. Lillian pulled Morgan so Burton got Drake. And off they went to get back into their original Tribes.

At Drake, the discussion was all about who was coming back. They were very worried about Burton coming back and hoped it was not him. Under serious thunder and lightening that was almost like strobe lights, Burton came back. Burton was excited to be back and his enthusiasm pumped the rest of the Tribe up. There were apologies for voting him off and suddenly they were happy to have him back again. Next morning, Rupert took Burton aside to talk to him. Rupert told him the reason he voted him off. Rupert told him about how Burton made fun of him and how hurt he was by it. That's the main reason he agreed to vote him off. Burton represented all of the "jocks" in Rupert's past that picked on him. Burton apologised profusely and told Rupert he wished he had known earlier. Then Rupert told him that the next Drake to go will be Jon. This surprised Burton but it secretly made him very happy.

At Morgan, Lillian was delivered by boat to the camp. They welcomed her back with open arms although Lillian was suspicious of the "show." Next morning as Lil gathered wood and got water, the rest of the Tribe were sleeping. She was amazed at how bad the situation was for them. She felt like the fact that she had immunity from the first Tribal Council made the others resentful of her.

At Drake, they had found a lemon tree and were eating the fruit. Rupert, Burton and Christa went off to the tree to get more fruit. Burton let them know that he was going to be honest and not back-stab anyone in this game. Christa said that Jon was always lying and playing one off against the other. At Morgan, they were cooking their last ration of rice. After this, there was no more food.

They met Jeff at Challenge Beach. Jeff told them the game had changed again and it was time to merge. They got new buffs (black) and were made one Tribe. Jeff told them to come up with a new Tribe name, a new Tribe flag and prepare for individual immunity from here on out. This challenge was based on a pirate punishment called "keel hauling" where if a pirate had been bad, he was tied with a rope and dragged underneath the boat. If the barnicles didn't kill them, the sharks would. The Tribe members had to jump off a platform and pull themselves along a rope underneath it to the other end under water. At the end of the platform, they had to run to the other side and jump in. At the end of the races, it came down to Burton, Rupert, Ryan O. and Jon. Burton won the immunity.

The new Tribe settled at Drake camp. When they got there, they found a huge buffet laid out for them. There was ribs, bread, cheese, oranges, nuts, wine, lamb and more. They decided to call the Tribe BALBOA after Rupert's snake. The ex Drake's found out that Lillian was ticked off at the ex Morgan's for voting her out in the first place and decided to use her to get at the Morgan's to maintain Drake strength.

At Tribal Council, Jeff welcomed them in as a new Tribe. He asked about their reaction to the merge. They said it was a shock that it happened so suddenly. Because Burton already had immunity, Jeff asked him if he wanted to give it up to anyone. Burton decided to pass it on and give it to Rupert. And it was time to vote. In the end, SADLY, Andrew Savage was voted off the island.

EPISODE NINE opened at Balboa as Day 22 dawned. Lillian was up washing dishes and Rupert was tending fire as everyone else slept. Lillian felt accepted by the Tribe finally, and she told Rupert that whatever was decided, she'd be with the team. Ryan O was still upset that Andrew was gone and totally put the blame on Lil for that since she broke the old Tribal alliance and went with the former Drakes. Burton and Ryan had a good long discussion about strategy just before Burton went fishing. Burton managed to catch a stingray and brought it back to shore. While he was trying to kill it, he got a shock from it. Soon, it was the entertainment of the day... getting shocked by a stingray. But they cooked it down and said it was "shockingly good" and "a high voltage meal."

They met Jeff at Challenge Beach for the Reward. In this challenge they would use slingshots to break their own plates, one at a time. As each plate broke, it would ignite a flame. The first one to light the flame at the top of their corw's nest would win the Reward, which was breakfast. There would be coffee, rolls, pancakes and syrup, bacon and eggs, sausages, sweet rolls, orange juice... everything you could imagine for breakfast. In the end, Rupert won the Reward. He now had the option of taking someone with him to breakfast or giving it to someone else so they can invite someone. Rupert gave Burton the breakfast because he surrendered immunity the night before. So Burton chose Lillian to go with him.

Day 23 at Balboa saw Jon and Burton scheming to take Rupert out of the game. They discussed if they should talk to him first or "blind side" him. Jon told him to blind side because Rupert would surely be very angry. Later on, the boat came to take Lillian and Burton away to their breakfast. They were taken to a tiny island of sand and rock, no green at all. There was a buffet laid out for them and they dug in. They discussed some strategy where Burton told Lil that they needed to get rid of Rupert. He told her to make sure she gets the other women with them.

Meanwhile, back at camp, Sandra and Christa were talking strategy. They both felt that Burton and Rupert were the strongest competitors and the biggest threat to them. They considered an all-female alliance at one point as they tried to contrive a way to stay in the game. Later, Sandra got some of the girls together to go food gathering... "just in case the men were not here, they'd need to find their own food." Next morning, Jon, Christa, Lillian and Rupert worked at camp while the others laid around doing nothing. The former Drakes were royally ticked off that the former Morgans simply would not help.

Over at Challenge Beach, they met Jeff for the Immunity. Jeff explained that the challenge involved answering multiple choice questions about the island. If a questions was answered correctly, than that person would place one of their colored coconuts into someone else's coconut holder. The last one without having their coconut holder filled would win Immunity. In the end, Rupert won Immunity. So much for the plans of Jon and Burton.

Back at camp, Ryan O was worried about his position. He spoke to Tijuana and Darrah about trying to band together. Meanwhile, Jon and Rupert were talking about how Ryan was scrambling. At Tribal Council, Jeff asked how the living together was going. Lil said it was great for her personally and that she loved it. Christa said the former Morgans didn't do near as much work as they should. Darrah defended them by saying that things get done when they need to get done. Rupert said that things are tough in the Tribe and that everyone needs to know that they can do better... including himself. When the voting was over, Ryan O was the EIGHTH person voted off the island.

EPISODE TEN opened on night 24 as a major storm front moved in. While everyonw slept, Rupert tended the fire and did a lot of thinking. He soon went off and "spoke" to his wife Laura. He said how difficult the night was for him because he missed his family so much. Next morning Jon sat and observed Rupert and Christa as they interracted with each other. He said it was making him sick they way they talked to each other. So Jon and Burton went off to get water and talk some strategy. They both agreed that Rupert was the strongest member of the Tribe and needed to go. They both had a couple of strategies in the fire and were somewhat nervous about what they would do. Later on, Rupert went off fishing. More than anything he wanted a shark. He saw a four foot shark but it got away from him. When Sandra and Christa went off for plants, Jon and Burton thought this the perfect opportunity to talk to the others about strategy. They were quite surprised to find that Tijuana, Lillian and Darrah were quite happy to go along with the plan to get rid of Rupert. However, if Rupert won Immunity again, they would gun for Christa. They all promised to stick together and not breathe a word about it.

They soon met Jeff at Challenge Beach for the Reward Challenge. This one was complicated. Let's see if I can get this right. They were spilt into teams of two and they had to compete until two teams were left to face off. They had to take part in an obstacle course. First, they had to race up a fishnet and when both were on a platform, they had to climb up a cargo net one at a time, reel in a bell and ring it. When both had a turn ringing the bell, they then had to get a grappling hook and pull in a rope to swing across to the second platform. They had to climb a ladder up to a crow's nest, untie a series of knots to release a second bell. After both had rung the bell, they had to slide down a sail to the last platform. Once there, they had to release a sandbag with the last bell strapped to it and only one person had to ring that bell. The Reward this time was an adventure day. The winners would board a cattamaran and do some deep-sea fishing and enjoy some pizza and beer. The two teams in the finals were Rupert & Jon and Burton & Lil. This time they were retrieving puzzle pieces. At the first station, one would retrieve the bag of puzzle pieces and the second person would ring the bell. The same for the second station. At the third station, they would use a cutlass to chop down a sandbag, get the key off of it and open their treasure chest. Inside the chest would be a board to arrange their puzzle. First to complete the puzzle won Reward. The winners were Lillian and Burton. They had the option of giving their Reward up to someone else and Burton gave his to Jon but Lil kept it.

Back at camp, Rupert was upset that he didn't win. He also caught the clue that he wasn't as secure as he might have thought because neither Burton or Lil gave him the chance to do some real fishing. Lil came up to Rupert and apologized for keeping the Reward. She told him she just wasn't thinking and that if anyone should go, it should have been Rupert. She was genuine in her apology and Rupert saw that and told her it was okay. Later, as Lil told Jon how upset she was, she started crying. Jon told her it was okay. Secretly, Burton was thrilled. He wanted Rupert hurt, dejected and hungry going into Immunity so he would not win it. Later, as Jon and Burton talked privately, Sandra was hiding behind the bushes and heard how Jon was going to 'work his magic' on Lil. She told Rupert this and he said that he was fairly sure that Lil would be straight and tell him what was said.

Boat ride time. They went and had some pizza and beer on this gorgeous boat. They briefly talked strategy. Jon told Lil that Rupert was first to go and if he was not available, then Christa was first. Lil expressed guilt over this and Jon told her to check it at the door. She should be happy, she was destined to be final three. Later they got the fishing poles out and cast off the end of the boat. After the sun went down, Lillian and Jon were delivered to Balboa camp empty handed. They hadn't had a single bite the whole time. That night, Rupert asked Lil what Jon talked to her about. She said nothing. Rupert was satisfied.

At Challenge Beach, Jeff met the Tribe members for the Immunity Challenge. This time, they were playing a dart game called "Killer." They had to blow darts first at their own color so that they could become a killer. After they did that, they could go after the other members. The board had a single section, a double section and a triple section. Each player had three lives. Whomever had lives left at the end would win Immunity. Burton was suprisingly good at this game and almost single handedly took everyone out. He won Immunity easily.

Back at camp the camermen found something quite disgusting and made us watch a snake eat a lizard alive. Gee, thanks guys. I swear, I almost stopped watching the show. Anyway, Rupert was royally ticked off that he lost immunity. Jon and Burton went off to discuss the vote for that night. The agreed that they would be the final two and that Rupert's time was up. Later on, Rupert, Jon and Burton went to the water to discuss the vote. Rupert told them that the Morgans had to be taken out and they agreed. The word was, Darrah was going home. At Tribal Council, Jeff asked them if there was anyone they felt they could not survive without. Sandra immediately said Rupert because he has almost single handedly been feeding the Tribe since day one. Jeff asked Burton if there was a competition between him and Rupert for "Alpha Male" status. Burton said no because no matter who was there, the Tribe would go on. Jeff then asked Sandra if she thought anyone was there getting a free ride. She said, "Let it be known that Jon gets up at noon and then he goes to his secret spot under the bushes for a nap. I have yet to see him wash a dish or even clean a fish." Jeff asked for Jon's reaction and Jon said that Sandra gives him a big, fat headache and it's "all about her." Jeff then moved on and asked Burton if he wanted to give up his Immunity. He kept it. When the final votes were read, Rupert was voted off the island.

EPISODE ELEVEN opened the night of Tribal Council. Sandra was totally ticked at Jon for breaking their alliance and lying to them. She and others could not believe Rupert was gone. Sandra yelled at Jon and Jon yelled at Sandra. Bad blood all around. Then Burton made a discovery. He asked the Tribe, "Who threw the fish out?" All of the fish that Rupert had caught for them were gone: an empty bucket remained. They all stated where they were and what they were doing. They accused Christa and there was more yelling and hollering at each other. Christa, who did NOT do this thing, was crying and trying to defend herself. Next morning they could smell the fish decaying so they went off to find them. Sure enough, they found them rotting on the ground, half eaten by night creatures and the accusations started flying again. They all thought it was Christa. Meanwhile, to the camera, Sandra admitted that she did it and felt terrible that Christa was taking the heat for this, but could not admit it. Christa cried and told them she did not do this terrible thing.

Over at Challenge Beach, they all met up for the Reward Challenge called "Walk The Plank." He surprised them by bringing out a loved one for each of the Tribe members. It was a very touching moment as they all embraced. Jon's first question to his friend was, "How is Grandma?" His friend Dan told him that his Grandma had died. Jon started crying and took his seat again. Jon said he hoped to win this so he could get more information. Anyway, the game began. The loved ones got up on the planks. Jeff would ask each "couple" a question. If the answered matched, they chose someone else's loved one to take a step on the plank. If the answer was wrong, they did not get that opportunity. The last loved one to be standing on a plank would win the Reward for the contestant and they would get to spend 24 hours at camp alone. Sandra, having won the first match, chose Jon's buddy to take a step. Jon, having matched, said, "I have about a million questions I'd like to know about my Grandmother, but obviously some people don't give a (BLEEP)..." Sandra was appalled and said, "It's not all about you all the time!" So Jon sent Sandra's husband on another step. The game progressed after this and one at a time, loved ones dropped into the water. In the end, it came down to Jon's buddy and Lill's husband. Burton had to decide who to send. He sent Lill's husband so that Jon could have time with his buddy and find out about his Grandmother. Jeff then gave the others a machete, some matches and a map. They were to go to another beach for the night. When they got there, it was desolate, shelterless and foodless. The were going to suffer for their kindness.

Over at Balboa, Jon and Dan congratulated each other on a grand performance. Jon's Grandmother was NOT dead, they had pre-planned this whole scheme so Jon would win any reward having to do with loved ones. At about this moment, everyone in America, as one, said, "You dirty little creep!"

Next day it was time for Dan to go home. Everyone said their farewells to him and the game got back to normal. Sandra took Christa and Tijuana out to collect wood and they tried to talk strategy. Sandra warned Tijuana about Jon and Burton. Late that night, Sandra grabbed Tijuana and told her to follow. They snuck away and heard Jon and Burton plotting against everyone. Tijuana's eyes were definitely opened. She went back and told Darrah what was said. The ladies planned to get rid of Burton if he didn't win Immunity.

At Challenge Beach, the Tribe members met Jeff for Immunity. This challenge had to do with concentration, involving word scramble. Each person was given three words, "SURVIVOR PEARL ISLANDS" and they had to make 20 words out of the letters. Christa was done first but had an error on her board. She was out of the game. Tijuana was done next but there was an error on her board... she sat down. Jon finished next and again, there was an error on his board. Gone. Burton finished next and was declared the winner. As they filed out, Jeff called them back. When he re-checked the board, he found a spelling mistake. The game was back on again. It was between Lill, Darrah and Sandra now. They had one minute to get as many words out of three new words, "OUTWIT OUTLAST OUTPLAY" in a limited amount of time. Darrah won Immunity.

Back at Balboa, the girls talked strategy. Tijuana and Darrah spoke about getting rid of Burton. Sandra and Christa talked about getting rid of Burton.... And then along came Jon.... he spoke to Christa and Sandra and poisoned their minds against Tijuana in order to save Burton. Sandra said there was no reason to trust Jon at this point, but Jon promised, on his Grandmother's grave, that he was being sincere. SHEESH! So, on to Tribal Council. Now you all have to realize that Jeff is very much aware of the lie Jon told by this point. I'm sure he's seen the tape in between challenges where Jon and Dan were laughing at the other Tribe members. I get the feeling Jeff never liked Jon from the beginning, anyway.... but let's move on.

At Tribal Council, Jeff asked Tijuana what was going on within the Tribe. She said it was chaos. Sandra said that after the last Tribal Council, there was fighting, swearing and general nastiness. Then it was discovered that the fish were gone and everyone blamed Christa. Christa promised everyone she did not do it, but could not physically prove it. Jeff then went on to talk about the Reward Challenge. Everyone said it gave them so much energy and happiness to see their loved ones again. Jeff then asked Jon how he felt about his win. Jon said it was the saddest day of his life and he appreciated everyone coming together to let him win. Darrah decided she would not give away her Immunity and the voting began. In the end, Tijuana was voted off the island.

* * * * * * *

EPISODE TWELVE opened on Day 31. With the new day, Sandra was second guessing everything Jon had told her the day before. Jon promised Christa and Sandra he'd take them to the final four, but they were not sure if he was lying or not. At this point, Christa stated that she'd probably have a better chance getting to the finals with the women and not the men. So where is the strategizing??? ANYWAY.... Sandra and Darrah went to get some wood and Sandra asked Darrah what she was thinking. Sandra told Darrah what Jon had promised her and Christa. Darrah decided to sit back and look at the big picture. Meanwhile, Burton went into the water and caught a ray and some fish.

Over at Challenge Beach, they met Jeff for the Reward Challenge. This one had them competing in teams of three on a water obstacle course. The first one had to start on a platform, walk across a plank to another platform where they would dive in and untie two paddles from two separate wooden crates. They had to take those paddles to the second person at the second platform. The second teammate had to dive in and release three barrels from under the water, and then the two would swim to the third platform, untie a third paddle and meet up with the third teammate. The three would then swim to shore, get in their boat and paddle back to the start. First team to make it back to the finish would win. The Reward this time was an overnight spa. They would be flown to a remote island, given a massage, anything they want for dinner, a good night's sleep and breakfast in the morning. They also got bathing suits to use in the swimming pool. They had to draw coins out of a bag to decide both the teams and the order in which they went. In the end, the team of Darrah, Lill and Jon won Reward.

On the secluded island, they went into a beautiful cabin and had showers, then had a massage and facials. Meanwhile, Sandra and Christa talked to Burton about the plan to take them to the final four. However, Burton didn't know what to say because he didn't know what Jon had told them. Sandra noted that Burton would not even be there if they hadn't swung their votes and gotten rid of Tijuana. Christa and Sandra were very worried about Burton's attitude and decided they'd better be a little more wary. Back at the Cabin, their massages finished, they were given silk pajamas to wear as they sat and ordered dinner. So they ate and drank and totally enjoyed their food. As the sun set, they spoke of strategy. Johnny "Fairplay" continued the lies about his Grandmother and acted all upset that Sandra and Christa "made him swear on his Grandmother's grave that he would take them to final four" which was totally untrue, of course. Jon BEGGED them to help keep Burton. Anyway, after dinner, they all sat in the living room and talked. Jon said, "A lot of people are worried about Lill. Lill is the Queen of sitting around the camp going..." Could not understand what he said, even with closed captioning on. But Lill was offended. She told Jon he hurt her feelings and she went off to bed. So much for Jon's plan to talk strategy.

Next morning, Burton and Christa went off to look for mussells to eat. Christa told him she would do anything to get further in the game, even get rid of Sandra or Darrah. Burton countered with the fact that he needs to talk to Jon. Burton then gave his word that he would do whatever he could to get her to the top four. Meanwhile, the three spoiled Tribe members woke up to a gorgeous breakfast of everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Jon spoke to Darrah about strategy and they decided that they would be the final two. Then the boat brought them back to the camp. Sandra asked what had happened. Lill wanted to tone it down a bit so they wouldn't feel bad, but Jon embelished it and gave every little detail. Later, Jon and Burton took a walk on the beach and Jon told him that he promised Lill and Darrah enough so that they would not break the alliance. Jon then told Burton that Christa was next. Burton felt badly about that, for sure, but would go along with it. That night, Lill could not sleep again. Burton woke up and sat at the fire with her. Lill asked him if they were the final two. Burton said he didn't know. Lill accused him of flip-flopping and having second thoughts. Burton told her he is not having thoughts... Hahahahaha.... that's the truth, Jon is doing all the thinking.

At Challenge Beach, they met Jeff for Immunity. This time they had to fire muskets which would fire flares. The first one to hit all three of their targets would win Immunity. Darrah won easily, hitting all three in a row. Back at the beach, the strategizing continued. Sandra said the women could easily band together and win this thing. Christa said she felt sure she was going. Sandra asked Darrah who was going tonight and Darrah said Lill. Lill asked Jon what was going on and he told her it was Christa.

At Tribal Council, Jeff asked them where the Tribe was at this point of the game: friendly, mean, competitive? Jon said it was full of hope... hope that the people you are allying with are telling the truth, hope that you're allying with the right people, hope that you can outlast everyone. Jeff then asked Burton if the game gives him a licence to lie and betray. Burton told Jeff that is the nature of the game. Jeff asked Darrah if she wanted to give up Immunity. She said no. In the end, when the votes were counted, Christa was voted off the island.

* * * * * * *

EPISODE THIRTEEN opened on night 33 as they headed back from Tribal Council. Sandra said, "I guess I should be grateful that I have three more days." After Christa was voted out, she thought for sure she would be next. The next morning, they made plans to get water and firewood. As Sandra sat and watched, she devised a plan of revenge. She decided to, one by one, start hiding water cans, the fishing net, knives, machetes etc. because she was sure she was being voted off next. While Jon, Burton and Lill were trying to get mussells, they spoke of getting rid of Darrah "because they thought she was such a threat" and that did not sit well with Lill. They were supposed to be an alliance of four! Lill started thinking hard about the lies she had been told and decided it was time to think for herself.

At Challenge Beach, they met Jeff for the Reward. This one was called "Second Chance" where they would get a second chance at their favorite challenges. First the had to untie their hands and feet from a post, take the ropes, dig under the bamboo fence to get into a cage, set the ropes out according to a map to find a spot to dig and get a key. Unlock the cage door to get into a cell. Build a pole using sticks and twine to reach a key and unlock the other door of the cell. Once out, get a sling shot and break three plates. Attached to each plate were letters which they had to arrange into two words. First one to finish and get the words would win the Reward. The winner would travel by boat to Panama city and spend the night at the ruins. While there, they would have a feast. Sounded good to everyone. In the end, Burton won this Reward and chose to take Jon with him. Suprise, surprise.

Jon and Burton went off on their litte Reward, not worried at all about being away from camp, strategically. When they got to Panama City, Jeff brought them over to a brand new Envoy, which was Burton's for winning Reward. So Jon and Burton got into the truck, followed the map to get to their place for the night. When they pulled in, they were met with a massive feast. They ate and ate for a few hours. Meanwhile, back at the camp, the women were talking. Lill stated that there's no way to know what "those boys" are cooking up, don't know what they're saying, don't know what they're promising... Sandra piped in and said, "Yeah, I know. They promised everyone something different." They started comparing notes on what Jon had been saying to them. It seemed to the women that it was time to step up and take control of this game. Meanwhile, back at the ruins, Jon wondered aloud if they should be worried about the three girls back at the camp. Burton said that not one of them have had a strategy or a plan, there's nothing to worry about. These guys were basically saying how they've got the game wrapped up and the women couldn't strategize their way out of a paper bag.

Next day, Lill was falling apart. She wasn't sleeping, everything hurt from the bites, her body was shutting down on her and her mind wouldn't rest. Sandra, Lill and Darrah decided on their plan. Since Sandra had already let it be known that she figured she'd be the next one out, she'd play that up for the guys. She told Lill that whatever Jon says, she will agree with and then they will blind-side him and Burton at Tribal. So when the guys returned from Reward, Lill and Darrah met them opn the shore. The immediately told the guys that Sandra was not talkinig to them anymore. The told the guys that Sandra was ready to go home, she's given up. She did not talk strategy or anything. When Jon and Burton got back to camp, Sandra was sleeping in the shelter. She would not talk to the guys at all. The guys saw this as quite an act. Lill and Darrah made themselves scarce so Burton and Jon could talk. Burton told Lill that he can't believe that the girls didn't try to come up with a female alliance. Lill countered with, "Sandra wants to go home. She's given up." Meanwhile, Jon was asking Sandra what was wrong. Sandra told him there's no reason she should do any work because she knew she was next on the chopping block. Jon told Sandra that she works out best for him and Burton in the final three. Jon started swearing on his Grandma that he and Burton would take Sandra to the final three. Jon then asked Sandra to swear on her kids that she would sick to that plan. Sandra did swear on her kids, but under her breath, she swore to get rid of Jon and Burton.

Over at the Immunity Challenge, they had to walk the plank. There was a series of five planks locked. Using their canteens, they had to fill a tube with water which would float the key up to the top and then they could unlock the next plank and lower it. First one to unlock all of their planks, grab their flag and bring it back to the beginning would win Immunity. Once again, Darrah won Immunity.

Back at the beach, Jon decided that Lill was next to go. When Jon went out to talk to Lill, she told him that she hurt like heck and was tired. So Burton and Jon went off to talk about it. They called Lill a disaster and agreed that she needed to go home. So Burton approached Sandra and told her Lill was next. Everyone was agreed. Jon mentioned that all three girls basically shared a brain cell. They should all be off peeling potatoes and washing floors. He figured he was much smarter than them and they were totally foolish. Which brings us to Tribal Council. Jeff asked them how they are holding up. Darrah replied but I have little idea what she said. Sandra said sometimes it just took too much energy to talk. Jon said that he was very impressed with these women that were left. Johnny Liar. Jeff asked Darrah if she wanted to give up her Immunity. She said no. In the end, when the votes were counted, Burton was voted out, having been blind-sided by the women. They showed Rupert, Christa and Ryan O. giving each other a high-five when Burton left.

THE END
The finale of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS opened with a recap of what had happened up to this point. It was a neat stroll down memory lane. But, onward and upward we go. As Day 37 dawned on the Balboa Camp, we heard and saw a boat coming in to shore. Jeff Probst arrived with champagne, orange juice and pastries. Jeff went back to the boat and returned with a package. He gave them each a letter from home before he departed. So the four remaining contestants separated and read letters from their loved ones. It was very emotional for all of them. After a while, the scheming started again. Jon tried to convince Lil that he was the one she should take to the end if she goes. So Lil asked Darrah point blank if she would take her to the final two. Darrah said she would not guarantee anything and didn't want to talk about it. Lil got very upset and walked away. So Jon worked on Darrah. A little while later, Darrah and Sandra went for water and talked strategy. They thought it would be a good idea to get rid of Lil and keep Jon. But when Sandra was alone, Lil talked to Sandra about getting rid of Darrah. They talked to Jon about their plan and the three agreed that Darrah would be next.

Tree mail came and instructed the final four to head off to Tribal Council where their peers would decide their fate. So off they went. At Tribal Council, Jeff explained that they needed to to an Immunity Challenge before the vote. He told them that the four of them would compete as individuals, but the jury would compete as a group. If the jury wins, no-one will have immunity. Jeff said that he would ask them a series of questions about pirate folklore and survival. The first to get 5 points would win immunity. The jury won Immunity in the end, putting all four remaining contestants on the chopping block. Jeff asked some questions about how they're doing. Darrah answered some and I couldn't understand her, so we'll just move on. LOL! LOL! In the end, when the votes were tallied, Darrah was voted off the island, leaving Jon, Sandra and Lil as the final three.

That night at Balboa Camp, the three discussed their strategies and why Darrah had to go. Later, in the middle of the night, tree mail arrived. They were instructed to go to Pirate's Cove before sunrise for the final challenge. When they got there, Jeff was waiting and explained to them that it was time to pay tribute to their fallen comrades. They had to take the torches of those voted out and place them, one by one, on a big ship on the shore. After all the torches were placed and the reminiscing was finished, they were to come back to the beach and shoot at the boat to set it on fire. Osten's torch was left at Tribal Council, so it was not included. After the boat was burned, they were instructed to paddle to their final Immunity Challenge.

Once at the final challenge, Jeff explained that it was all a matter of balance. They were made to balance on individual rafts on the ocean using only their hands and feet. If their bottoms or knees touched the raft, they were out. Surprisingly, Lil was the one who outlasted, and it was now up to her to decide who she was going to take to the final two for one million dollars.

Back at Balboa, Lil was thrilled with herself. She refused to talk about the final two, but Sandra and Jon were both convinced they were the ones to go. While Lil contemplated who to take, she thought that Sandra had a family to support but she also had friends on the jury. She thought Jon would not have any friends on the jury, but he was really good at playing the game. So they all packed up and headed for their final Tribal Council. Once at Tribal, Jeff asked them about their feelings while they thought about their former Tribe mates and how they felt about their Immunity Challenge. Just a lot of nice-nice talk, trying to win the jury and Lil over. So it came down to Lil deciding who to take to the final two with her. She decided on Sandra, sending Jon off to the jury.

Back at Balboa, Sandra and Lil were relaxed and spoke about Jon's manipulations. They didn't know half of it. Sandra had been sure she was the one to go, but Lil told her that it was all about supporting their families, not wasting the money on parties, etc., as Jon would surely have done. Dawn soon broke over Day 39, the last day of Survivor: Pearl Islands. Sandra and Lil took a last look around, relaxed and thought about going home. Soon they were packed and on the way to the final Tribal Council, where one of them would be crowned a millionaire.

Now it was the jury's turn to talk to the final two and figure out who they would send home a rich woman. First, the final two would be able to make an opening statement. Sandra started by saying that she felt she deserved the million because she was a team player and always willing to help people along to get closer to the finals. She said she helped out, worked hard and did everything she could. Lil said her strategy was just to be Lillian. She told them she was kind and worked constantly and she overcame a lot of back-stabbing.

Ryan addressed the final two first by saying that Lil was voted out and then voted back in, so she really wasn't on the island surviving the whole time like the rest of them... so why should he give her the million? Lil said that being out of the game was one of the biggest, lowest points of her life. It was no picnic being an outcast. Ryan asked Sandra if she thought she was riding coattails all the way. She said no. She had alliances with Christa and Rupert and even when they were gone, she was still standing.

Rupert got up and congratulated them. He told Lil that he felt everything she said to him was a lie. How could she wear that uniform (scout master uniform) and profess to uphold the scout's honor by representing them when her actions and behaviour was in no way representative of the scouts? Lil said that everything was honest until Burton came to her and told her they had to get rid of Rupert. Rupert interrupted and said he didn't want to hear a blame game, he wanted to know anything she did or said that was totally honest! So Lil said that when they were out in the water talking about their families and lives and their dedication to youth, that was all honest. Rupert moved on to Sandra, clearly unsatisfied with Lil's response. He asked Sandra if she knew what was going on the day Rupert got voted out. He wanted to know about that day. Sandra told him she did not know what was going on. She said she wrote Jon's name down because she was mad at him over something, but she assumed everyone was going after Darrah that night. So when they all got back to the camp, she said everything blew up because she was cursing mad and screaming at everyone because she was totally unaware that Rupert had been a target and was out of the game.

Next was Tijuana. She asked both of them why the other person did not deserve to win the million. Lil said that Sandra had disrespected a lot of people and a lot of times simply rode the coattails of others to get ahead. Sandra said that the best reason she could think of is the fact that Lil had a hand in voting out every single person on the jury.

Christa stepped up and said to Lil, "Everytime something happens you said, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.'" When she won something she'd say she was sorry, then recite her boyscout oath, making it seem like she was always hiding behind the scout oath. WHY? Lil explained that she genuinely was sorry for things like voting Rupert out but she needed to stick with her alliance. She said that the scout uniform is all she had to wear so she was stuck in it. Christa then asked Sandra what her most challenging plotting and scheming was. Sandra said the biggest one was when she and Tijuana went into the bushes to listen to Jon and Burton scheme.

Next was Burton. He asked them to honestly rate their survival skills, 1 being they would die and 10 being they'd do excellent if they were dropped off alone on this island. Sandra said she'd do about a 5. She'd do well with foods but not well with shelters and fire. Lillian said she'd give herself a 7 because she can make fire, obtain water, and learned her skills as a scout master.

Next up was Darrah. OH NO! She wanted them to explain honestly how the both of them got to this point, the final two. Whomever gave her the most honesty would win her vote. Sandra said the reson she is sitting there is because other people had other agendas and other fish to fry. Nobody worried about her because they considered her weak and any alliance could call upon her for her vote... as long as it took the focus off of her, she was willing to help. COOL! Next was Lillian. She said she was a non-threat because she was older and not athletic. She followed different alliances and was there because of following along as well as using her own head.

Jon's turn. He told them a lot of people were "representing" people there on the island. He asked Sandra how she thought she represented Puerto Ricans in the game. She said she did a good job out there. If she lied it was because others were lying. If she back-stabbed, it was because others were back-stabbing. She didn't do anything that everyone else wasn't doing. Lillian said if she had to do it all again, she would not wear that uniform. The game had nothing to do with honor or integrity. She said she was not happy about the things she had to do while in that uniform and she felt she did not represent the scouts at all.

It was then time for Sandra and Lillian to make their final statements. Sandra went first by saying that she thought she played the game very well. She felt she represented herself the way that she truly was. There were no lies or deceptions about how she was and that she thought her mouth might have gotten her into trouble, but her honesty was what helped her. She said she was glad to be sitting there. Lillian said that if she had it to do over, the uniform would have been left at home. On the one hand, there was boyscouts, dignity and honor and on the other hand, there was Survivor: liar, cheater, whatever. The two things don't come together. She did the best she could with what she had and the person that she was.

So it was time to vote. Flash forward to Los Angeles and the votes get read. In a landslide, Sandra wins SURIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS by a 6-1 vote.
