Welcome to AM:
LAS VEGAS. This is the place where the
houseguests who have just been evicted get to come
and talk about their time in the game. Check back
shortly after each eviction to see the updates.
He came so close. He
had his game planned to perfection. Unfortunately the
one thing he couldn't plan was the way the jury would
vote. We are joined today by Ian, the runner up of
Big Brother Las Vegas.
Did you have a strategy in mind when you applied to
play this game?
IAN: Absolutely, and everyone knows
I did. It was almost foolproof, until the people in
the house had to go and end up being real, caring
human beings. That threw everything out the window,
because I suddenly had to realize on my own terms
what was more important, winning a game with no prize
or keeping the relationships I'd made intact. In the
end, I suppose I hadn't fully committed to either
one. I tried to end the game having my cake and
eating it too. If I really had made a decision on
what the game meant to me, I would have walked out of
the house the week after evicting Matt.
What were your impressions of the people you were
sharing the house with?
IAN:
Justin: I got a way better
impression of Justin about a month after he was
evicted when he showed up with his computer fixed and
we talked about the game and this and that. He seemed
like a good guy to me, but I also don't have much to
base that on.
Lisa: While Lisa was in the game, my
opinion of her was hindered by my aforementioned
strategy to win the game. I viewed everything that
she did or said to be a reason to get her out of the
house because it meant I would go further. Now that
the game is over, I really appreciate getting to talk
to her and I find that she's a much more pleasant
person when not having to worry about the outcome of
the BB:LV game.
Kimberley: Okay, so I could be
really mad at Kim, but realistically it wouldn't make
sense. Kimberley and I had a good relationship going
into the game (even if we didn't know we knew each
other at first), and yeah, it was her vote that
eventually cost me the win in the game, but on the
flip side of the coin, if I hadn't put her up for
eviction, she might not even have that vote at all.
She cast it how she felt she should, and I like her
no less for it. I think Kim will always be awesome in
my books.
Leo: Hands down, no contest, Leo is
the one person who has been the most fun to play a
game with. Every moment of the game with Leo was a
blast. He always kept things interesting, and if he
had to leave as early as he did, I'm super glad that
I wasn't forced to cast a vote against him. Sk8ter
Boi rockin' up MuchMusic, as always!
Jeremy: This guy deserves a lot of
credit. Even though I don't appreciate the way he
played the game, and I don't appreciate his attitude
toward people he's never met and I certainly don't
appreciate that he holds grudges more extremely than
anyone I've ever met, he does have a grip on how to
play a game. Obviously word got back to him that I
was going to nullify his vote and he took full
advantage of that, making me look like the fool in
the process. It's a real shame that he takes great
pride and joy in doing that to me, seeing as when we
first started the game, he and I had an alright
friendship, talking about him and Corey and other
things not having to do with the game and it was
great. In the end, he had an amazing strategy that
played out superbly for him and destroyed me in the
process, and if that doesn't deserve kudos, I don't
know what does. Because of his extreme ego and his
blatant desire to rub everything great that happens
to him in everyone else's face, I doubt I'll ever
talk to him again, but I can be the bigger man and
compliment a job well done... and he had a job well
done.
Grace: I really don't know her all
that well, but I found out after she was evicted that
there were a couple of times I believe I talked to
her brother and not her. So that just adds to the
mysterious aura of Grace. I think she was really nice
when I talked to her, though. Despite our little feud
that went on for a week or two.
Diana: A sweetheart in every sense
of the word. It took Diana and I a long time to
really get close, but once we did, I found Diana to
be very pleasant and just one of my favourite people
in the game. She had the worst timing in the world,
though... we got closest in the week that she was
evicted. Mine was the vote to keep her, but she
didn't have the support to stay, and now I hardly
ever get the chance to talk to her, and it's a real
shame. Wherever she is, I hope she's having fun.
Matt: Everyone knows Matt and I have
some issues, and I'd rather not get into them in this
interview. All I will say is that Matt is quite
probably the most incredible person I've ever gotten
to meet online, for what it's worth.
Elizabeth: Whether it was singing on
the mic, or praising Eminem or Tom, or sending me
pics of her and her cousins and friends (jeez, I wish
I had that many friends!), Liz was always a hoot and
a real pleasure to play the game with. It was rough
going for me to evict her because I knew she'd
invested so much into the game, but I'm so glad that
Elizabeth is a strong person with a good sense of
friendship, because she's since forgiven me and we're
having more fun than we ever did in the game. Liz
rulez!
Tiffany: She has got to be the one
person I've met in my life with the biggest heart.
She's just a magnificent person with so much going
for her. I wish I could call her an angel, but we've
never met, so I don't know if she's got wings. Hehe!
I'm so, so glad that Tiffany wasn't evicted in the
first week, because as the game progressed, Tiffany
grew as a person in my eyes and surely the eyes of
everyone else in the game. She was always kind,
always kept her mind clear and her heart open and I
couldn't ever say a bad thing about Tiffany in the
game... and I still can't.
You won the Head of Household position four times. Do
you think that the fact you were directly responsible
for so many evictions hurt you in the end?
IAN: I don't think it played as big
of a factor as it could have. Because I was smart
enough to stick to a tentative plan that was devised
around the time of Matt's eviction, I managed to get
to the end with Josh, who it was obvious some players
had some problems with in terms of his style of
gameplay. I was the HoH who took out Kimberley,
Jeremy, Matt and Tiffany, I was the sole vote to
evict Elizabeth, and I was the nominee against Leo
and Grace. Looked at from that perspective, it was so
possible that I could've had 7 people with a major
hate for me. But I think the fact that Josh's
gameplay was so sketchy (in their eyes, not mine)
gave me a fighting chance despite everything I'd
done. Although winning four HoHs was an awesome feat
for me. I'll always have that no matter how I did in
the end.
Were you surprised by the final vote and how close it
was?
IAN: I was somewhat surprised that
Kim didn't vote for me, I had kind of hoped that
she'd have my back, but I see why she did what she
did. Matt's vote didn't surprise me. Tiffany,
Elizabeth and Diana also didn't shock me. Jeremy
shocked me. I didn't see his strategy at all. I knew
it would be a close vote, and I had tried very hard
to convince myself that I would lose, but I don't
think I ever really believed that it would happen
because I'd put so much effort into getting to where
I was. When I lost, it was a very, very big letdown.
But was it surprising? Not so much, no. .
Would you like to say anything to Joshua, the
eventual winner of the game?
IAN:
Good
job, dude. You did it.
Thank you for joining us Ian. You played a great
game!.
Stay tuned for an interview with the WINNER of
BIG BROTHER: LAS VEGAS!
