Santa Clara County Statistics

SAN JOSE

  • 3rd largest city in California (behind Los Angeles and San Diego) and 10th in the nation.
  • Founded in 1777 and was site of the first state capitol.
  • Mild/moderate climate with temperatures and a mean annual rainfall of just 14.4 inches.
  • Home of major league hockey (Sharks) and soccer (Earthquakes).

    SANTA CLARA COUNTY

    Santa Clara County is bounded by Alameda County (to the north), San Benito County (to the south/southeast), San Mateo County (to the northwest), Santa Cruz County (to the southwest), Stanislaus County (to the east), and Merced County (to the southeast).

    In Santa Clara County, three interstate highways (280, 680, 880), one U.S. highway (101), and eleven state highways (9, 17, 25, 35, 82, 85, 87, 130, 152, 156, and 237) run through it.

    POLITICS

    Politically, this area is virtually a barren wasteland for Republicans and our civil rights and liberties.

    In Santa Clara County, Republicans are now around 29% with Democrats at around 45% with nearly 22% as decline-to-state (3rd largest %, 4th largest in raw numbers). 25% eligible are not registered to vote.

    Statewide it's 43 to 35% Democrat to Republican with 16% d-t-s
