The Swansea Bay LGBT Switchboard provides a much-needed service for the lesbian, gay and bisexual communities, their families and friends in South Wales. In order to be able to carry on working efficiently we need more volunteers urgently.

Ideally volunteers should be able to give two afternoons/nights a month for phoneline duties.
Furthermore, volunteers are required to complete a basic training course which focuses on telephone skills and sexual health issues.
Volunteers should be mature, open-minded, non-judgmental, friendly and comfortable about discussing sexual (health) issues.
Volunteers must also understand the need to maintain complete confidentiality and be trustworthy.

BUT ……. SBLGBTS  welcomes support in any form from individuals, and there are variety of ways to help. For people that are not in the position to volunteer to work on the helpline, there is always a need to distribute publicity materials to places such as libraries, colleges youth clubs and pubs/clubs.

WE also WELCOME suggestions on how we can improve our service.
